I hope you read this in the most constructive way
Haircut with Holly, 10
Steam shower, 10
Massage: 3
First, I was brought upstairs to the wrong person .
Then, after I got downstairs again, my Practicioner didn't seam to be ready… she was mixing her massage cream ?
told me to get in the massage table and that she would be back … more than 10 minutes passed before she returned, by then it was 1:16
I asked what took so long, she did not offer a reason.
She was not very intuitive,
When she was done, I asked her what time is it ? She said 2:00
So I only had a 45 minutes
Of a massage that was below average and very expensive $120.
I did not take a shower after the massage, to enjoy the moisture, but to my surprise, my skin sean dryer that usual. I wonder what was in the mixture that she used. ?
I'm disappointed ☹️

only 1/3 of the experience is available. No water offered, no showers, no pre -massage relaxation neck towel or foot stones, no time in the lounge area.
I felt uneasy about the car in the parking lot with a pack of homeless people hanging out and urinating into the river.
So there was not much relaxing happening, so just skip it.

Well don’t go here! My husband booked a surprise spa package. They called and Cancelled my massage yesterday and called again today to cancel my hair appointment. The receptionist that called was so rude, made no apology and no accomodation. I’m glad we drove 2.5hrs and stayed in a hotel for these appointments to be cancelled. Happy Birthday to me!

My wife treated us to a side by side, couples massage. Welcoming, soothing atmosphere. Our massages were great. Attentive yet overly engaging so we could relax. The only negative is that one of the masseuses was a smoker and the smell was on her and with her for the session.

On the spur of the moment, a friend and I decided we deserved a day at the spa. I had never been to Blue Giraffe before but had heard very good things. I have a lot of experience at spas, having a massage once a week and having full spa days at least once or twice a year. Its nice to know we have a gem like this within a 50 mile radius (we live in very rural California). We started by stripping down to the customary very soft and cozy bathrobes. I think I'll buy one next time Im there it was so soft and comfie. Next they brought us hot stones for our feet and a warm neck wrap draped over our shoulders while we waited in the almost Mediterranean themed waiting room with pillowed couches and wicker. In no time our day began. First I had a long soak in the jet bath in a room I'd love to duplicate at home. The water was perfect, the jets were so relaxing, the lights were dim and the music was soothing. Very very relaxing! When that was done? On to my facial which was ahhhhhmazing. Actually I fell asleep!!! So embarrassed, but my face felt wonderful. After that I had a very nice massage- it just wasn't deep enough since I have one every week, but it was relaxing. I just prefer deep tissue. Finally my friend and I sat side by side for our pedicures, talking with our shared pedicurist since they were low on staff that day. We still had a nice time chatting and laughing. I was goo by the time we left! Its an experience that was very relaxing, rewarding and something I plan to repeat hopefully within the next 6 months. Very nice all the way around, and staff were sooo nice and accommodating.

I've been here several times, for massages and facials. Each time I have also included a bath. They are incredible! They let you go in a huge hot tub with jets (inside a beautiful room), with candle light, nice music playing. The tub can easily accommodate 2 people, though I've always gone by myself.
The facials are alright. Not the best I've had. The massages are great if you get one of the guys (I like really deep massages). The atmosphere is fine. It's an older building so they do their best. When you are getting your treatment you can occasionally hear people in the hallway. The changing room is quite ridiculous. It's very small, and there is a curtain that you pull that kind of gives you some privacy.
My favorite spa is actually here in Grants Pass. It's called The Spa and the treatments and atmosphere is what I expect in a high end spa.

MY husband and I come here once a year , (5 hours from our home). This is an annual event for us - come to Ashland, see plays, get massage and eat at wonderful restaurants.
The décor in the waiting room is burnt orange with a mural of trees and tall grass with a giraffe, and there is water and tea waiting for you. After you change into a gown and sandals, you are given a hot rock that is covered with a towel for your feet and a hot collar for your neck, (don't know what it is called) and boy, now you are already starting to relax!
We get an hour Swedish massage, which just sends me into heaven, as usual they ask you what you like and have been happy with, and if there are any physical concerns, etc. which you can tell them. My therapist listened to me, (I like light massage) and while the music is playing and the lights are dim, I fall into my nirvana state. Today I had Rose Light, and she took good care of me always asking if she was giving my the right pressure. She wrapped my feet, and hands with hot towels and placed hot packs under my neck and back. I wish she was working in Portland, so I could make an appointment sooner than next year ..

I treated myself to a steam and reflexology massage during a trip to Ashland and it was heavenly! Staff were warm and inviting and explained where everything was located and how to operate the personal steam room. Marissa gave a very relaxing massage of my hands and feet. I will go back for more services the next time I am in Ashland.

I thought it would be nice to have a massage, facial or manicure. I was a walkin and was told the only thing available within my time frame would be a manicure that I could have in 1/2 hour. I left and then returned to be told that it would just be a few minutes. Sat in a delightful little room and waited and waited. I finally went to the desk and was told that the manicurist was running late and it should be just a few minutes more. After waiting 20 min. I asked to cancel the appointment. Only then realizing that the manicurist wasn't even there. They were waiting for her to arrive. I was not happy

We are so sorry that anyone has to wait when we have a "walk in" client. Due to our location and client demands, the bulk of our appointments are made with advanced reservations. We do not require our technicians to stay on premise, if they do not have an appointment, but rather to be available by cell phone present for walk in clients within 30 minutes of a call. Unfortunately our employee was unable to get to the spa and took 45 minutes to arrive, without notifying us of the delay. We are addressing this issue with our staff, and we will make sure this does not happen again. Thank you for notifying us of this issue.

The Blue Giraffe is beautiful to look at. Alas, although my hot stone 85-minute massage was relaxing, my husband and I both got very young and inexperienced therapists. In addition, although we had requested women therapists for both of us when we booked our reservation months in advance, my husband was assigned to a young man, who bragged excessively about working on professional athletes -- not a plus for my husband, especially since the therapist used what seemed to be "athlete" technique even after my husband explained that he needed a more gentle technique. The women's dressing room has no provision for privacy other than a very small curtained area similar to a dressing room in a cheap department store. Likewise, although the spa offers a nice steam room/shower, there is no private place to exit, especially if you want to dry yourself outside the steam room -- there is only a VERY small area right outside the steam room door where the "privacy" is only a curtain. The only alternative is to walk to the dressing rooms all wet. There are no showers other than the one steam room/shower. It's too bad there was not as much forethought put into function as there was into decor. The stairs to the second floor, where most of the therapy rooms are, is a spiral staircase that some people, such as us, cannot negotiate. The building elevator is outside the spa, and you must traipse through the laundry room to access it. On the whole, the Blue Giraffe's website looked a lot better than its service. We will not return.
