Hot? Then head 20 minutes up !-5 to cool mountain weather. Believe me..bring a sweater AND a coat, even in summer. It can be windy, and 30 degrees cooler! Not the best skiing but a fun little family resort. I used to live in Ashland and we enjoyed all seasons on the mountain.

We went up to check it out since we were in Ashland. There are very nice views of Mount Shasta and if the air quality had been better, there would also have been view of Castle Crags. There is also a good view into Oregon. There is some hiking in the area as well. It is worth the short drive... More

The drive right up to the summit looks a bit scary from the bottom up, but it's doable in a regular vehicle that isn't abnormally low to the ground. Although its a steep single-lane road with infrequent turnouts there are places you can pass the infrequent cars coming down. We got an impromptu guided tour of the Doppler radar station... More

Mt Ashland Ski area has been a problem for snow riders.. Poor unprofessional management has alienated many locals with poor service really BAD food and slow prep to get runs open for snow riders.....

Since the ski area management turnover 2 years ago, the ski area has been much more responsive to community concerns and wishes. We added numerous healthy options in the Cafe with more new options scheduled for the coming ski season. We've also been spending the past few months upgrading our lifts to ensure we can open when it's safe. Our... More

THe Pacific Crest Trail goes through here and some great hiking. There is a great hike which starts about 2 miles PAST the ski area. The road is all gravel and narrow, so drive slow. However, in summer you DONT need AWD. Once you get to the trail (it is at a place where the road comes to a fork),... More

Just a short drive from Ashland to the top of the mountain. There are several trail heads easily accessible from the main road...watch close for the signs. Even if you don't hike the trails, there are still great vistas of Mt. Shasta, Pilot Rock and others. My favorite hike begins about a mile beyond the ski lodge where the Pacific... More

Nice drive up the mountain - road was open further up so we really got to go up and see spectacular views of Mt. Shasta.

Revisited Mt. Ashland 40+ years after learning to ski here. The snow was good but overcast, and the runs were open with few skiers. Unfortunately not very much ski area has increased since I last skied here. However, the lifts have been updated. It's a nice family ski area near Mt. Ashland.

We are glad you enjoyed your day at Mt. Ashland! Mt. Ashland did attempt to increase skier terrain, but after 20 years of legal back-and-forth, we are now more focused on being the best little family-friendly ski area in the country. Lots of skiers and riders have found the side country worthy of exploration, if more terrain is what you... More

For a community ski chalet and multiple run experience highlighting the great State of Jefferson (that's what Oregon and California residents who feel less represented in their respective capital governments self-describe) some 7K feet up, this is the place to be while viewing both states with a grand "ausblick" to wondrous Mt. Shasta. Enormous pride by community volunteers makes this... More

You can see the summit from I-5 and from the vineyards at various wineries on the eastern side of greater Ashland, but to get to the summit, you must drive the almost to the California state boarder. The view is wonderful from the ski area and do drive to the meadows behind the main peak.
