The ski mountain is great, nicely groomed but not nearly as challenging as they say. If you’ve skied Colorado and Utah, this is pretty tame. Staff at the lodge is nice. Unfortunately people put their things on the tables for hours to save themselves space...More

I, unfortunately, missed the ski season on my trip as it closed the previous weekend. I packed a lunch and drove up to the area to overlook the valleys. What a beautiful view to relax but you can also enjoy a hike which I did...More

We hiked along the PCT at Mount Ashland and were treated to stunning views of a snow capped Mount Shasta. Three of us with our three dogs enjoyed a few day hikes last week. The trail went from soft pine needles to snowy patches in...More

The alpine meadows on this mountain are spectacular as is the view of Mt. Shasta. Easy hike of 6 miles. Plenty of small wildlife & tons of honey bees!

Mount Ashland certainly lives up to their slogan. Skied with some friends during a winter storm. I would recommend going straight to the top. There are blue and black Diamond runs from there. Go for the first part of the day for best powder. Although...More

Hi! Yes, the road will likely be snow-covered this weekend, based on what we're seeing in the forecast. Take it easy and make sure to leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you. Going down, there is a... More

Mount Ashland Road - scary? white knuckle? (7 Replies)
We are heading out to Oregon for 3 weeks and staying in Ashland for a few of the nights and were thinking about going hiking on a trail that starts about 8 miles up the paved Mt Ashland Road (Mt Ashland Ski Road). Has anyone currently on this forum driven up Mt Ashland? We hate white knuckle driving where you have cliffs and no guardrails and was wondering if parts of this road are like that? thanks

Nothing to worry about. It's an easy drive just off the I-5 interstate. Not a very high mountain. In fact, they cancelled the ski season this year because of lack of snow. You can be there from anywhere in Ashland in no time.
