My friends and I strolled into the troll hole on a whim. We were slightly hesitant and unsure what to expect. After examining the prices we decided to pay the student discount toll to see the troll hole.

We were immersed in a whole new world. Prior to this trip we did not understand what joys troll dolls could bring. The museum was entirely committed to spreading knowledge about trolls. Nothing was held back. Some would say this collection is a bit bizarre, but we were entertained on a rainy afternoon. Not only did we learn about dolls, but also "real" trolls. We learned everything here is to know about trolls. Enter this museum with an open mind and brace yourself for a strange adventure.

All museums typically charge a small fee, and since this isn't "government" assisted, it is no different. It was well worth the small fee if you love Trolls! Everyone has owned these things, and they are everywhere. The guide was very knowledgeable and just a sweet person. The displays were vast, and very interesting. I learned a lot! I would definitely take the tour if you are in town, and buy something from the souvenir shop because it has so much beauty and diversity in the selections. We really enjoyed it a lot!

I toured this museum with my elderly friend. It was tons of fun! I think folks of all ages would love this place. The guided tour took us through many different rooms. We were informed about the history of trolls and how they differ in various countries. Who knew there were so many different types of trolls! We both enjoyed the place much more than we expected. It was so interesting and enjoyable. I highly recommend a stop here.

Living in Alliance, I had no idea this museum was located downtown! It took a friend from Akron to come and ask me to go with her. It is the most amazing, exciting experience especially if you like trolls. The museum is like a labyrinth with each room a specific theme. My 11 year old son was even impressed. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and made the tour so much fun! One of the best kept secrets in downtown Alliance.

My son and I found this odd place while completing yet he Stark County geocaching trail. After seeing the bright blue bus driven by trolls and odd quirky items and landscaping we couldn't decide if the place was creepy or cool. So we entered the shop and discovered the nicest ladies and a quirky assortment of artful items, gifts and trolls. Everywhere you look there is something that by itself might be oddly interesting. But it's the total collection and interesting combinations that makes it so hard to describe the place and the vibe. There is a fun little coffee bar at the back of the store which served up rich hot chocolate, latte and mochas, cappacinos and wonderful herbed tea.

It was more than we could absorb and appreciate in the limited time my son and I had to visit so we purchased advanced tickets to the Troll Museum for the whole family to visit at a later date and made the whole package a gift to my wife and daughter for Christmas.

The day after Christmas seemed to be a good time for all of us to visit.

I can't say we are really Troll people but there is something very authentic about the passion of the people operating this show. I am appreciative of all the work that went into the museum even if I may not be able to share the passion. My son (aged 8) and my daughter (aged 6) were quite fascinated be the whole experience.

Bottom line? If you have even a passing interest in Trolls you should make the effort to visit. And if you are looking for a funky and fun something to do that is off the beaten Path a bit you won't be disappointed.

At first I thought the ticket prices were a bit high. But the guides are friendly and more than willing to share their knowledge and experience with you. It appears most tour groups are very small (ours was only our family of four) so you feel like you are getting an intimate look behind the scenes of someone's very personal passion.

Not everyone will love it but it's worth a stop

A couple of my friends and I visited on a rainy Tuesday afternoon and I was delighted! Lots of cool, unusual items to purchase in the store, a yummy little coffee shop, and yes, we took the tour! I loved it. I got to learn a little Scandinavian history, see some awesome art, and saw, I think, just about every troll doll that ever existed! I ended up buying a troll talisman with a little green haired troll attached, some delicious chocolate, a greeting card with an awesome art print, and the coolest magnet with Buddha being visited by 2 troll dolls! A very fun day with my friends. Thank you so much!

Our family went to visit the shop, not realizing that it was $10 per person for a 45-minute tour. So we did visit the feeder art/gift store but did not actually spend $50 for five of us to visit.

We do have a Facebook page and often offer discounts on there if you would like to check it our or you could always give us a call! We would be happy to help figure something out for you and your family. :) We are currently running a promotion where donating a troll either gets you 1/2 off the admission of one person OR if the troll you donate is one that we don't have in the museum collection then you get admission for one for FREE!

We visited the Troll Hole on a weekday afternoon. We started the tour off by seeing an art workroom and in that area was a 'troll hospital' that I thought was pretty cute. After that you go through several rooms with trolls lined up and down the walls. Pretty much every kind of troll imaginable is there. Our guide was informative and discussed their history and the waves of popularity that they have gone through. At the end of the tour there is a waterfall, 'little mushrooms' for children to sit on, some music playing and finally a bridge. In total, our tour lasted a little under an hour.

There is a gift shop that sells a variety of items and they also sell coffee and chocolates and of course a variety of trolls. I did like the seats lined against the wall as it seemed like a nice spot to spend a cool or rainy day drinking some coffee.

The cost to tour is ten dollars a person for adults with discounts for seniors/students and children. In my opinion, I think the ten dollar admission price for adults is too high for what it is. Other places in the same county such as art museums and local historic homes have admission prices that are cheaper. While obviously this place has its own special content, I still think lowering the admission price by a couple dollars would be more reasonable.

I recommend a visit if you really like trolls or are looking for a unique place to check out. If you have some extra time and like cats, the Feline Historical Museum is free and is literally right next door.

I visited the Troll Hole on a lark, as part of a semi-ironic tour of local roadside attractions (including the nearby Feline History Museum), and I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised.

My tour guide's enthusiasm was infectious. I'm a 30-year-old man who owned maybe two troll dolls growing up (the "boy" troll dolls, the ones with big bulging muscles), but I found myself getting super, SUPER into this weird collection, from the bedroom of troll doll merchandise to the troll puppets and masks, to the Ninja Turtle troll dolls and sports dolls, to the collection of more traditional, Norwegian-style dolls near the end of the tour—it was an incredible, overwhelming sensory experience that left me positively giddy. Who knew troll dolls had such a cultural impact?

My guide was passionate about the collection, being sure to point out specific objects and explain what they were and their significance in the history of troll dolls. Normally I'm hesitant to sign up for guided tours because I like to go through museums at my own pace, without someone talking at me the whole time; but my guide's cheery attitude and obvious passion for the subject matter really made the trip something special.

The gift shop was no slouch, too—lots of museum-specific merchandise, including Troll Hole mugs and t-shirts, and of course, the dolls themselves. Lots of artsy stuff, too, and chocolate in the shape of pizza. Yum.
