What a little gem this place was, I wish I would have been able to take the grandkids. They have a greenhouse type building with reptiles and plants that is very interesting. There is also an awesome butterfly house that teaches you everything you would ever want to know about butterflies. There is a smaller play area right next to the butterfly house and then there is a much larger play area for the kids right beyond the butterfly house that has sooo much for the kids to play on. There is a stage that the kids can to do puppet shows, swinging bridges, tree house, firemans pole, zip line, sprinkler area, slide, life size lincoln logs to build a cabin with. Included in the entrance fee is Raptor Hallow, where you can see silver fox and a variety of raptors. They do two shows that were pretty awesome.

I went with some college friends and we had so much fun at the gardens. We learned a lot, we had fun trying new things like tasting a fig and smelling scented plants. It was fun being a kid again and going on a scavenger hunt and playing with butterflies landing on our noses. It's free admission except for the butterfly house, which is still only $3. The only thing that I was a little disappointed about is that they didn't have a very wide variety of butterflies there. It was still a great time though. We also loved spotting the turtles and the toads in their cute little villages.

We read a discription that said gardens, trails butterflies. The butterfly house was nice. They had sugar sticks to feed the butterflies. As for the gardens and trail/paths they were rough. We tried following 1 trail and it was very muddy and so overgrown we kept stopping to make sure we were following the map. There was actual foliage hanging down to waist level we had to duck under and move. As for the gardens they weren't impressive and were small. They had some fun areas for little kids with rocks and cut logs.
If you have little kids it might be alright but as a day in the garden and walking trails for adults i would look elsewhere. The $12.00 per person to get in wasn't worth it

We visited Beech Creek on an early Friday afternoon. You can walk around the gardens and paths for free. If you want to visit the butterfly house there is a small charge of two dollars per person. The butterfly house is really neat; you can take qtips and dip them in sugar water and feed the butterflies. You can buy your tickets or pick up a brochure in the welcome center that also has a small gift shop that sells a variety of nature related items. On the side of the visitors center there is a large deck with tables and chairs that overlooks trees with bird feeders. It would definitely be a nice spot for a picnic. During the summer months they sell plants and herbs in their greenhouse; I purchased some rosemary. There is also a little pond with several turtles in it. Another small building houses some different plants, a train set and educational materials. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful and the lady in the butterfly house shared a lot of information and was open to lots of questions.

I recommend a visit; without the small fee to get into the butterfly house everything else is free. It’s perfect for children because it’s educational and interactive. If you’re looking for something to do outside for an afternoon on a nice day you’ll probably enjoy visiting.

This park is fabulous. The trails are beautiful. The butterfly house is special to visit (seasonal). The grounds have creative play areas for children. Bird feeding is great (seasonal). I urge everyone to become members (nominal) and support this local gem of a place.

Admission is $8 per person which is a little high for me, but we had free children’s admission for our kids thanks to our local pigskin pals cards. There are lots of plants and beautiful gardens, large green house with lots of educational activities. Two really cool natural playground areas and walking paths. They have a small gift shop with snacks and drinks for purchase, but we brought in our own snacks and drinks. Overall we spent 3 hours walking around and playing in playground areas.

We went as a family. We walked a sad trail. We saw a boring greenhouse. We stood in the sun and wondered why we were there. Don't plan to spend an afternoon. It's a nice place with not much to see

A hidden treasure on the edge of Alliance. Cross the RR tracks and turn right. Down the gravel road and down amongst the trees. A butterfly experience, greenhouses, paths to walk on. Huge fun for all ages. Well staffed for any questions you might have. There are plants for sale and things to see. HAVE FUN! An easy drive from State and Union Ave. in Alliance.

This botanical garden is a gem. Especially for children. The hands-on-activities in the Plant Science Center will stimulate the curiosity of children and adults alike. There is an amazing amount of education going on in this little space. When I visited the Butterfly House, the monarch butterflies were hatching, which was an incredible experience. There were so many monarchs that you could entice them to land on a sugar soaked Q-tip that you were holding. Visit this garden if you like fairy gardens. There are so many and each garden is very different in theme and size. The other gardens were equally interesting. And I understand that the trails on the property are worth exploring. There is only a small $3 charge to visit the Butterfly House, but the rest of the garden is free. There is a nice gift shop on the premises, too. Do visit if you are ever in this area of Ohio.
