Boating, swimming, skiing, snow mobiling, all to be found around the lakes. Many bars and restaurants on the perimeter and you can take a 2 hour cruise if you don't have your own boat. There are several parts where you can rent a shelter for...More

We love the lake but hate all the boat traffic and the lack of more high speed areas. There are areas of really shallow water that you have to watch out for especially going under some bridges with on coming traffic. There is a lot...More

Brought the kids here for a day at the beach. Nice beach. Good shady area. They even had free boat rides available. Good for families.

went out with friends on their pontoon boat while we were in town. Calm waters, beautiful views of homes and some statues. There are places to pull your boat into to get something to eat, or actually stop at the park to swim

Portage Lakes State Park is a great place for families to picnic, swim, boat, play Frizby Golf, etc. It is located on a chain of lakes that the indians used to portage their canoes between rivers.
