I had my first lesson with Kite Club Hatteras. I was amazed at how quickly we were in the water flying the kite. The whole experience was exhilarating and a ton of fun! James was extremely patient and skilled at helping me to feel successful in a short time. I highly recommend Kite Club Hatteras!

I just returned from Avon in the outer banks,NC during which time I spent 6 days wing foiling with The Kite club hataras crew.. specifically James. He was absolutely a fantastic and patient teacher and was always available to offer different methods to make my experience the best it could be. The owner Christos was also a great source of info and support as well. I highly recommend this very dedicated foil, kite, and winging teaching center for the best experience possible.

This was our third trip to Avon and our third time working with Kite Club Hatteras. Each time the coaches have been excellent and always flexible in terms of getting me and my friends out on the water at the best time for our skill level. We appreciate very much the fact that if you can't get out, they don't charge you. That seems obvious given that we are all dependent on wind....but not everyone has that approach.
The equipment is top notch and often renewed which is also appreciated. We love the team and will be back!

We just spend a glorious week here at the Turtle Club. Awesome home with everything you need. We cooked several nights and the kitchen is the best equipted that I've ever used. Bedrooms are spacious and beds were comfy! Love the open concept of the living/dining/kitchen. We were a group of ten with ages 6 months to 68 and there was room for all. A great front deck to sit on and watch the activity at the ppol and a spacious back deck great for cooking a steak on the grill or enjoying a cup of coffee early in the morning. I loved the more relaxed pace of Avon. There were numerous great places to eat and shop. We visited the lighthouses and took an hour long ferry ride that was quit refreshing. All and all I'd give this area and our hosts-Melissa & Christro a 5 star rating! Hope to see you again in the future.

We had a great time on OBX. We really enjoyed our stay in the house and the convenience to everything. Our kids took advantage of the canal, kayaking and paddle boarding out the back door. We had fun exploring the area and spending time on the beach. Christo and Melissa are great hosts and easy to work with. You'll be well taken care of when you stay or take lessons from their excellent team.

Fantastic and idyllic few days living the Kiting life with Graham and the team at Club Hatteras!! Having found the accommodation through AirBnB and thinking about maybe doing some kiting as the school was there, we were clearly hand picked by fate to give us the benefit of a BRILLIANT kiting school and the most empathetic, knowledgeable and motivational coach in Graham! The accommodation and day to day buzz were fab and the stresses of the outside world vanished into the ether and the times on the water were totally educational and eye opening!! I'm now wondering how to move my business and life back there :) THANK YOU Graham and Christo, you ROCK!!!!!!

Lodgings = very nice, especially for the very reasonable price. Private bedroom with shared bathroom (with one other bedroom). Large shared kitchen (perfect for cooking) and living room. Large decks on front and back of house that are perfect for relaxing after a long day in the water. Entire building is clean and well-maintained. There may be a little noise from other people sharing the house with you, but management made sure to keep it quiet by a reasonable time at night. Uncovered parking located right next to the house.
Location = just a mile or so off the main street in Avon--house is right on the a canal leading to the Outer Banks. Quite convenient.
Instruction = as with all instruction, opinions will vary depending on how the student meshes with the instructor's teaching style. That said, I enjoyed my lesson with Graham. He is a very straightforward teacher who pays a lot of attention to student safety, especially for beginners. Kitesurfing obviously depends a lot on the weather, which was not great during our trip. However, that's just a risk you have to take for this sort of vacation. Gear provided was top-notch and in excellent condition.
Owners = Christo and his wife are very friendly and responsive to questions/inquiries. No complaints about any dealings with management.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great and clean accommodations. Full kitchens, bed and laundry facilities. Bunks are available for budget travelers.
If you are an experienced kitesurfer you'll love the relaxed atmosphere and access to the best launches on the sound side of OBX and awesome downwinders (sound side or ocean side) coordinated by Kiteclub's experienced staff. If you're a student, Kiteclub's IKO certified professional staff will have you up and riding in no time with direct one-on-one instruction, boat support with full safety gear and supervision. When there's no wind, there's no problem. Kiteclub staff will take you SUPing. Kiteclub also has great deals on Cabrinha, Neil Pryde and Mystic gear at rates lower than the overhyped kite shops in Waves.

Super laid back team. Great coaches. Super friendly and fun. They were very flexible to accommodate everyone in their schedule around the wind patterns. I learned to kite in 4 sessions, and made some friends along the way. In fact, I'm back up north and heading out in 20 min to kite on Cape Cod, thanks to the Kite Club Hatteras. Oh, and the price was great, especially since they gave me some money back since the wind died and we couldn't get my last couple hours in.

I shopped around and this was definitely the best value in the Cape Hatteras area to learn kiteboarding. It is in Avon, which actually has more restaurants and bars nearby then if you go to one of the big kiteboarding schools like Real. Also, one of the coolest parts was the people that I shared the house with, I got to meet many like minded people who travelled there from around the globe who I plan to stay in touch with. It is a great immersion into the sport. The shallow waters and year long winds make this an ideal location to learn kiting, as opposed to starting directly on the ocean. You share the house with your instructors, Jean-Luc was a great teacher. Also, I left a few items out drying on the deck because I was in a rush to catch an early morning flight. Christo, the owner, sent the items back to me for free. This is overall just a great experience if you are serious about learning to kiteboard or are an experienced kiter.

Not sure ...sorry. I see many young kids ripping it maybe early teens ? Call or email Christo he is very good getting back to you.
