Very interesting touring the fort and reading about all that happened there. We particularly enjoyed reading about the bread making by the soldiers. Lots to see with a lot of historical information. There is a movie and a store as well. And it is FREE!

Really nice. Visitor's center has a quick movie and easy access to the fort. Tour guides are available. Each casemate shows a part of life in the fort and then gives you a good timeline. Very nicely done overall. Kids got to run around and...More

Our group 11 family and friends stopped by to check out the fort, it was very interesting and informative. It is also free to visit which we all appreciated. They also have a beach at this state too.

I'm not sure. They are doing a beach erosion project with piping sand from the Fort Macon beach a mile or do down towards Atlantic Beach using large pipes. This is just a guess. Best thing to do is call the park
