Easy flat hiking trail that is mostly wooded and shaded. Two good parking areas with restrooms. We frequently walk or bike on the trail. It is well used on weekends, much quieter during the weekdays

Been bike riding this trail for over 10 years starting at the New Hill Trailhead and now riding all the way to Scott King Road in Durham, about 25 miles total. It has gotten pretty crowded through Chatham County on the weekends so riding early...More

I took my bike out to ride the southern portion of the American Tobacco trail. Be ready for this one. It's an old rainroad right away so the grades are not steep but they are exceptionally long. It is gravel at Olive Chapel and as...More

Very nice place to take a good walk or go on bikes. We tried from the White Oaks parking lot in Apex. Want to try from other points as well. It's wide enough for bicyclists to go freely without (most of) the walkers blocking the...More

A friend and I did the stretch from the White Oak Church road access to the New Hope Church road access. Plenty of walkers, runners and bike riders who were all very friendly

Up north used to bumpy bike paths with roots. This is newer, smoother and flatter. In & out of woods. Nice tunnel/ bridge overpasses. Falls of the Neuse also a favorite.

There are a lot of people using the trail on Sunday afternoons so you may find Saturdays more enjoyable if your goal is to feel more at one with nature. But even on busy days the paths are wide enough for pedestrians, runners, and bicyclists....More

I often go here for my long runs when training for a half marathon. Plenty of parking and the trails are always in good shape and it is a safe environment!

Very nicely laid out I just wish others would follow the rules of the road and practice a little common courtesy. Like picking up after their pets, staying to the right and announcing when they are passing. All these things are clearly posted throughout the...More

Yeah the one at New Hill looks closer, especially if your starting point is to the west of Holly Springs. Otherwise taking 540 up north and going to the Wimberly Road entry point shouldn't be too far either.
