This was a great park , the sites were very good the only few things we noticed a barking dog for the first 2 days we were there, everytime we went outside it barked the entire time we were out.
The ladies bath house needed some attention the sinks were dirty and only one of the hand dryers worked.
The Camp host was very attentive, as soon as we pulled in he was there to greet us and ask if we had any questions or needed any help.
We would visit this camp ground again, the lake and beach area were very clean and pretty.

We are in our 60s and this “rustic” trail was not strenuous for us with a few mild hills.
Regular tennis shoes would suffice - watch for roots and stones on the trail.
The loop followed the lake at a distance with some overlooks.
This is a peaceful and enjoyable walk.

Camped at Parkers Creek Campground this past weekend. Beautiful Lake and the water was great. The campground had so much litter and trash that it made it a lot less enjoyable. I have stayed at a lot of NC State Park campgrounds and this was the dirtiest park i have ever stayed in. You have a beautiful park so you need to take pride in it and clean up the trash.

I've been here several times with family and friends in winter and spring. While it may be different in summer, the areas we visited were nearly deserted -- even the beaches. If you love to be alone in nature, this is a great place for that experience.

Beautiful park. Just don't go if you want to enjoy a few beers. Ranger made us dump out over 3 cases of beer as soon as we got there. Physically poured out every can. He searched our coolers, tents and cars. Very disappointing.

My husband and I spent a whole day of hiking 8 months ago (after all but one of the campgrounds had closed for the season) to choose our campsite for a 10 day trip. We made our reservations in September for June 5 after choosing what we considered the best site in the park. The site had only one adjacent campsite on one side and a creek/cove on the other as well as an incredible beach in front. We understood we would share the beach with the adjacent campsite. What we didn't know was that anyone could come to the beach. We have had people walk through (yes, THROUGH our campsite) to get to the beach. Other people came from the other side of the lake, through the brush beside our campsite and set up within 5 feet of our items on the beach. Upon speaking with park personnel, we were told to grin and bear it. The shore is considered public property no matter its proximity to a campsite. The end result is that anyone can walk or drive their boat onto any shoreline area and set up day camp. The Rangers will only intervene if the "visitors" (trespassers to us) become obnoxious or threatening. Unfortunately, loudness does not qualify as "obnoxious or threatening". We feel completely exposed. Maybe we were naive, but this is definitely the last time we pay for a waterfront site for other people to be able to walk within 2 feet of us because they didn't have the foresight to rent a site with the amenities they need. Our rights as paying customers mean nothing and the discourteousness of some of the guests are simply unbelievable!

Pleasantly surprised by this camping trip. I have read some mixed reviews pf Jordan lake so I want to address those. First, yes there are some busy weekends here so avoid camping on peak weekends like Memorial and labor day. Utilize the state park systems website to reserve your spot and check photos and maps to be sure that you have the things that are important to you like water access and restroom proximity. We camped at Poplar point and had an amazing view from site J029. The restrooms are cleaned thoroughly and restocked early each morning so if you want to shower etc I recommend going early. By late evening the floor will be dirty, but hey you're outdoors. My only complaint is of the jetskiiers. The water is quite shallow along the banks and easy to wade out and swim in but watch out for seadoos speeding through. Park rangers drive through every few hours so I felt safe camping here. Water and trash access is plentiful. Yes, the shower doors are short but I would rather be able to see if theres someone standing on the other side, and this way you can reach a bag of dry clothes hung on the outside. Hope this helps.

NC Rangers like walking around at night playing the campers against each other saying they have called in a complaint just so they can walk around and look into your campsite with binoculars. Complained to Jay Greenwood , who is over Jordan, he doesn't seem to care, so we will have to go on up the ladder. This was at Crosswinds, Poplar Point no different...Can see going back .. Still waiting on 2nd answer back from Jay, don't expect to get one

My husband and I had a great time camping with our 5 year old daughter over Memorial Day Weekend. Poplar Point is easy to find and each campsite is easy to access. Every campsite has it's own driveway and clearly marked tent pad. Each site also has a great fire pit and picnic table and lantern pole. Even though the campground was almost completely full for the holiday weekend, it didn't feel crowded and we had privacy from neighboring campers. The bathhouse was very clean and conveniently located. We enjoyed our trip and are already planning to go back.
