Upon entry the owner (we think) sat us down to try and get us to buy more services that we didn't want , she was very pushy and a tad bully like. We opted for a Turkish bath with sea salt for an additional €10. We were then ushered down stairs an into the Hammam room. They were pretty busy so we had to wait a little bit but didn't mind too much, the scrub itself lasted about 5-10 mins and sea salt had no affect and was no rubbed in with any vigour or effort. After, we were given orange juice that we thought was free but was actually €4 each (bit cheeky really) after we got changed then back upstairs to pay. The guy behind reception seemed to possess no life whatsoever just wanted to scan our little bracelet thing and get our money. By this stage we weren't too bothered but we were told the driver would wait for us to go up to our room and pick the money up, the driver was not particularly safe so we were glad to be back at the hotel. Overall bit of a lame duck experience with pushy staff and hardly value for money. Two words...Tourist trap!

This was a free trip from the rep as we had purchased 2 tourist trips. We were picked up on time despite nearly getting into wrong minibus (be careful on who to expect to pick you up). We decided to have a 30 min massage and salt scrub for €25 euros each (and a free mini massage for my colleagues young son) The wash, scrub and salt scrub were something I'd do again and be happy to pay for.
We'd never had a massage before so were a bit apprehensive but it was a refreshing experience and we'd do it again.
The little one enjoyed his "mini" massage so that he wasn't left out of the experience.
A good couple of hours spent and was clean and relaxed upon completion

My partner and I visited here during our trip to Xanadu Island resort 30 minutes away. We were met by a very charismatic English speaking Turkish gent, he assured us we would be able to go through the hammam as a couple and encouraged us to purchase extras (30 min massage for 30 euros). On entry we were faced with a large heated marble room wall to wall with people laid relaxing. We enjoyed the heat and waited with anticipation. What happened next can only be described as a beating, a small but strong Turkish man proceeded to lay me (a 6ft 1, 18 stone man) on a marble table and scrub me with salt whilst twisting my body into various yoga like positions, and repeatedly slap my body. An unusual experience which is looked back on with humour. My girlfriend was nervous of going topless, but you get very little choice all women were encouraged (by female masseuses) to remove their bikini tops. Don't worry the men were looking at each other with fear of the upcoming wrestling match (sorry massage) , so paid little attention to the semi nude ladies surrounding them. I think we would both go back but be prepared to leave your inhibitions and dignity by the door. :)

I have experienced other hamam's in Istanbul and in Bodrum but never one like this. I visited with 2 friends. We booked the day before and were asked to meet the taxi service on a road close to our complex. The driver was at least 15 minutes late and we were left standing in 30 degree sun without shade.

On arrival at Rashid's we were welcomed curtly by an english speaking woman who sat us down, gave us a cold drink and proceeded with the sales pitch. We had already paid for the hamam and she was offering extras. My friend and I decided we didn't want anything extra and my other friend opted for a massage but asked for a lesser time and to pay less. This was agreed but as we didn't book anything more we were quickly dismissed and passed over to a very surly looking woman who made no effort to smile, just pointing to get us to follow her to the changing room. She became known as "Mrs Trunchball".

She led us into the sauna and doused us with water, indicating we should lie down. This part was perfectly pleasant but after about 10 mins she returned with a male colleague and assigned him to myself while she tended to my friend who booked the massage.
The first humiliation arose when the male masseur noticed I was wearing a swimsuit rather than a bikini and brought me a towel intimating that I should slip down my top. I refused and he seemed confused referring back to Mrs Trunchball who came over and tried to physically pull down my suit. I told her quite firmly that I did not wish to do this and she shrugged her shoulders and went back to my friend. The male then began his massage on my legs and I could feel quite firm pressure but didn't make any fuss about this. When he took me for my final rinsing (which is done with bowls of water being thrown over you), Mrs Trunchball came across and without any warning took the bowl from him, pulled out my costume at the back and then the front, poured water all over me and went back to her client! After this I was given a towel and shown out to a drying off area. Two of us sat there for about 10 mins, waiting for our friend to finish her massage but when Mrs Truchball next came out of the hamam with another client and spotted us, she immediately "shooed" us upstairs by putting her arm behind us and pushing us in that direction.

Now, all this would be fairly laughable, except none of it was done in good humour. You expect a bit of comedy, having cold water thrown over you to make you gasp is part of it, I have experienced this before and laughed along with the staff. But this was different , especially as I woke the next day to find my legs covered in finger-point bruises and track marks where he had dug so deep!! I shall put these photos on for all to see. I emailed Rashid's, over a week ago with my complaint and my pictures. I have waited for their reply before posting this review and have heard nothing.

This complex was indeed beautiful and well maintained but the staff were indifferent to customers needs and not interested if you weren't paying for extras. The building itself does not make it 5 star, a friendly and professional service is more important. Therefore I shall not be recommending this to anyone.

We were on a cruise so just had one day in Bodrum. We decided to spend the afternoon in Rashids Turkish Hammam- mistake. As we entered, the staff were genuinely scary and unfriendly. We were forced to drink some cherry juice whilst being practically forced to pay for extras. Only one member of our party did, and went for the cheapest option. This made them very angry. We then went in a steam room and were left in there for at least half an hour. Everyone else was prioritised before us. A member of our party had to ask if we could come out as we were beginning to feel dizzy and dehydrated. The staff were angry at us, put us in a cold jacuzzi with an (electrical lamp hanging off the wall into the water!) then we got our scrub. It was so painful, and the staff bent us so much that we were physically in extreme pain. A younger party member was scrubbed by a large man who slapped her many times, purely for effect, this had no benefit and wasn't entertaining. We then had some orange juice that we had to pay for forced down us. Not a good way to spend our afternoon in Bodrum. Please take my advice- do not go!

We visited last week on a cloudy day on the Bodrum peninsula. We are a party of two mums and two girls aged 6 and 11 years. We were invited to a table to have a drink whilst we waited for the sales pitch, from an English speaking member of staff. She assumed we had come via a hotel package and didn't ask us what experience we were after. Early on prior to explaining the Hamam experience she used a swear word (she said another noisy staff member was really "pxxxing her off) - we were surprised she was so unprofessional, and also offended at the swearing in front of the children, which we raised with her. Initially she said she didn't realise this was swearing, and I highlighted it was, and did she feel it was ok to swear in front of her children, which she replied no, and then apologised. She then became aggressive, and said if we were going to exchange looks, we were better to leave!! We did so, with her speaking aggressively as we left. This is not what we expected from an expensive tourist facility where we hoped to treat ourselves and our children. We would not recommend this, purely due to the way we were treated, and could not comment on the quality of massage, facilities etc.

If you want to have a good experience you should go to a local hamam and historical one. There is one in Mugla which is 1.5 hour far away from Bodrum, 1 hour from Marmaris ,20 min from Akyaka, 1 hour from Dalyan. You will be happy when you go to historical ones. Enjoy yourself...

My cousin was visiting Turkey for the first time and was keen to enjoy a hamam experience. We booked through an agent in Bodrum and was collected from near our holiday home and taken to Rashid's Hamam. There we were subjected to the ultimate in hard sell. The staff were not in the slightest bit interested unless we bought all the extras. As my cousin is from Vancouver and unlikely to be able to visit Turkey again, we agreed to a specialist scrub and an oil massage. The first room was very pleasant, like a sauna, and then we were taken into the next room for the scrub and wash with bubbles. They didn't do a specialist scrub with either aromatic salt or coffee grouts and was over very quickly. We were then shown to the jacuzzi. Most of the jets were not working. After a little while an attendant came and asked if we had enjoyed the experience. We told them that we had not had the treatment we had paid for and so were taken back to the scrub room. We were left there for 15-20 minutes with no-one around. We had just decided to leave when two masseurs came into the room to complete the treatments. They then proceeded to scrub our already scrubbed bodies very vigorously and then poured the salt on our backs. It felt as though hot wax was being poured over us and we screamed for them to stop. They washed the salt off and proceeded to finish the treatment with coffee grouts. The whole of my cousin's back broke out into a red and bleeding rash. The staff were completely uninterested.
Overall the staff were rude and the treatment expensive, painful and inappropriate.
I have experienced a hamam before and this compared in a completely negative way. It in no way reflected the experience of a proper hamam.
I would not recommend this hamam to anyone.
