I have been a few times to this zoo. There is even an online petition for the single elephant there to be released into a refuge. I have seen dead snakes on the pathways, turtles out of their terrariums, sick and dead animals. The place is not clean, the animals are thin and weak. It is overall a very sad... More

Looking for something to do with my day, I went to the Manila Zoo And Botanical Gardens. There were trees in the zoo, but to call them a "Botanical Garden" is an abuse of the concept of a garden. The zoo itself looked like it was built 50 years ago and hadn't been maintained since that time. The cages and... More

The last time we visited the zoo was when i was still a kid and a lot of things have changed in the 20+ odd years we've been here. We granted our son's wish to visit a zoo for his 4th birthday and the zoo did not disappoint my sons' expectations. He was so excited to see all the animals... More

I have been to the Manila zoo several times since childhood, since this was one of our Christmas traditions. I have seen how the animals have deteriorated through the years, I really hope something can be done to ensure that the animals in the zoo are healthier.

the zoo definitely needs to be worked on. while it is clean, the state of some of the animals are not really good - too many monkeys in one area. one tiger is in a small cage! glad to see that the lone elephant is still there. the kidzoo has limited animals as well - snake, macaw, baby croc, some... The price was fantastic and the place actually had a lot of potential, but it was very run down. A lot of maintenance needed to be done as the place could use a little cleaning up. Obviously it was still good for the kids.

This place is quite run down, but it is clear the staff do care about the animals, middle of the city in not the best area

The place still has the same foul smell, dilapidated structures, dirty surrounding, skinny animals, and murky lagoon water – nothing has changed. Their claim of doing its best to appeal to everyone is a lie. And if they are indeed doing something to make the place better, they failed miserably. This zoo must be closed and animals must be sent... More

A few friends and I have been in the Philippines making our way around and we were in Manila. We took a visit to the Manila Zoo which was a truly saddening and disgusting visit. Zoo's which I have visited in the past have very to standard enclosures and healthy looking animals. The Manila Zoo however had enclosures that were... More
