What a charming place. We only stopped in for a few beers and see if this place actually existed. The staff is very friendly and they really play up their roll as Pinoy "Hobbits".

Was dead the night we visited, food and drink is overpriced. Saw a deal on the website for a bucket of beers and food. Mentioned this there and ordered the deal twice. When we got the bill I was told the deal no longer existed...scam.
On the upside waiters were really friendly and don't mind if you want to take a photo with them.

A great restaurant in the heart of the city, with charming staff, nice décor and great food. It’s pretty expensive, even by Manila standards, but it’s a place I would certainly go back to if I visited again.

While I'm a great connoisseur of politically incorrect eateries this one did not delight. Will and I went midweek and the place was empty apart from a very loud man onstage with a guitar shouting his way through Dylan and Bob Marley. Our server was grumpy. The beer menu was initially impressive until we were handed a piece of paper with the actual beer availability. As Will is a temporary resident of Japan and misses the diversity of beer available on the European market and it was this that had originally persuaded us that the Hobbit Hole would be a good option for us. Anyway, we ordered from the handful of available beers and they were fine.
Then we made mistake. We ordered 'steak'. It's our own fault but there we go. We couldn't resist it. It was auful, the second worst steak I've ever eaten. Cooked in some sort of salty gravy the meat was ruined and Will claims there was a hard centre to his mashed potato indicating that it was actually just a crushed potato.

This place is a lot of fun. My friends and I had a great time. The food and service are good and there is a solid import beer list to choose from. Those of smaller stature are absolutely wonderful and make it fun experience. Some say prices are high but I didn't find anything out of line in what I would find at an average restaurant in the States(plus you get the theme setting) Good music on most nights also. Fun stop, good for most ,including kids and families.

This place is over priced by third world standards.
The food is terrible and drink selection is poor.
I ordered a hot tea and they can't even provide sugar,,, "no stock".
Clearly the current owner has lost his motivation and is now trading on a past name.
The interior is grubby and grim.
Please owner sell up and allow new ownership to re modernize what could be a great venue.

Brought my US based son and his new bride for some drinks. The service is good and the food is nice. The band played well too. The crew are all midgets who made sure we had a memorable stay.

A few years after my last visit I was fortunate to have a night to visit again. The welcome is really warm and everyone greets you as you ar seated.
There was 'Live' music from the stage by a local , who was really good and helped make the evening more memorable.
We ordered food off the menu and we were not disappointed, the food was plentiful and tasteful.
The staff, little people, are extremely nice and I felt we left after meeting and chatting with long lost friends.
Do try to visit and make up your own mind what is on offer, I know you will not be disappointed.
When I am able to visit Manila again, I will definitely visit here again.

Seriously, this place has all the potential in the world. they go to all the trouble of being politically incorrect (little people work there) at least get them in costume. it is pretty much a dingy irish pub with some LOTR and Hobbit posters rather than being something that would make you go back as a tolkien fan.

Please don't miss this one out of concern of the area, we went to this location as a large group and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were greeted quickly and the service was very good and courteous. This bar/restaurant is staffed by little people and it is their claim to fame. The food here was ok but most go for the great beer selection and fantastic acoustic/musical performances. If you drink 5 beers here (yourself) you will also get a free coveted Hobbit House t-shirt.
