The rest of the Seychelles you don't have to wear a facemask, but why on the ferry?

It feels like they have put as many chairs on the ferry as possible. There is not much room for the guests.
But it is an easy way to travel between Mahé and Praslin. And cheaper than the plane.

The ocean wasn't especially rough but many passengers were clearly feeling very unwell as the catamaran slid into wave trenches at 25 knots. If you're prone to seasickness take precautions and consider carefully where to sit.

Baggage handling was just chaotic. On arrival, bags are piled on the quayside and 400 passengers left pushing through the crowd to locate theirs. Not very safe and really not acceptable..

The boats are nice enough, but the boarding and unloading process is a chaotic mess to put it mildly. Business class is an enclosed cabin exacerbating risk of seasickness which is a real issue. The outdoor coco de Mer class is by far the best, and no need for AC as the sea breeze and shade makes it comfortable. Get scopamine patch or dramamine tablets if you are at all prone to seasickness.

It is just a boat crossing from one island to the other, but if you have been in island hopping in Thailand for instance, this feels miles ahead in terms of organisation. Granted, in Thailand everything works well at the end, but you always have an uneasy feeling about the whole operation.
Not here. Cat Cocos is very organised, specially from Mahe to Praslin. You check your baggages as if on an airport, go to the queue, get your passport checked, your temperature checked, and your hands sanitised.
I recommend paying a bit more to go in the open space upstairs. If/when the sea is rough, I think I rather be around fresh air. Thankfully in March the sea was very calm, but it is still a choppy journey.
I also liked to see the crew be very attentive, and requiring everyone on board to wear their mask. No chin-diappers, no mouth covering... wearing them as they should be (at least for now).

Beware of this company. Though their policy states that in case of a cancellation you get your money back with a 25% penalty, they do not reimburse you anything, they do not respond to any email or any way of communication. They are a complete rip-off company when it comes to get your money back! I would avoid this company by any means on the future and I advise you to avoid it !!!! I would have rated 0 stars if possible!!!

Booked Mahe to La Digue in “business class” and La Digue to Praslin in economy.

The business class is a joke — chairs are large enough but the AC barely runs, so you are stuck in a musty room with no fresh air. Yuck. The trip from Mahe to Praslin can get quite bumpy, so bring a doggie bag if you’re prone to motion sickness.

Once you arrive, the crew will block the other passengers from exiting so that you are first off the boat, but then you get to stand and wait with everybody else because your “priority” checked luggage was loaded onto the boat in whatever order and will not come out first. Genius.

There is also zero enforcement of the mask policy, so 3 people in the business cabin decided that they are above rules and went maskless for the duration of the voyage. At the Praslin stop, one of them actually started to eat a cheese sandwich. Disgusting. Crew saw them, the first officer saw them, the captain saw them — nothing.

The 15 min trip from La Digue to Praslin was fine — I’ll give them an extra star for that. We sat outside and the trip was smooth and fast. Same deal with the lack of enforcement of the masks though — once again, the only people who lose out are those who follow the rules.

The inter-island route between Praslin and La Digue is tolerable, but I’d strongly taking helicopter or plane for trips to/from Mahe if you can swing it.

There had been an issue with my ticket and I had not received my booking confirmation, it was late during the night and the offices were closed. I had contacted Madame Magda on Cat Coco's emergency number (which is a brilliant initiative by the way) and she came directly to my rescue. It was late as I said, but she still helped me the best she could and was genuinely so kind. If not for her, I would have gone crazy, she assured me that everything will be okay and came up with a quick brilliant solution for me. She is indeed a real gem, as she even called after to check on me and if everything had gone well. The other girls in the office on Mahe are also very kind, understanding. All in all, the ladies at Cat Coco rock!!

Cat Cocos' employees need to brush up on customer service, especially male staff Angelin. He was stuck on the belief that tickets that have been screenshot cannot be read by their ticket scanner; and he repeatedly refused to try to scan our tickets. He then shouted at us, and brushed us aside even if we were still asking questions. We wasted time just to download the pdf version of our tickets, given the slow internet speed on the island.

Once our tickets were sucessfully scanned, I highlighted that one of the scanned files was actually a screenshot of the original file. The other staff including Magda were not open to understand our feedback, and the fact that screenshot tickets do work.

The employees' style of working at the Victoria Mahe jetty port was aggressive. They were on attack mode most of the time.

We didn't face this issue during our La Digue-to-Praslin and Praslin-to-Mahe trips where I gave screenshot copies of our tickets.

I understand that Cat Cocos has the monopoly of operating sea ferries among Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue islands; but it does not give its employees the right to be very rude to its customers. Remember that you are operational because paying tourists and locals are there to visit your islands. Treat us like human beings, at the very least.

Inter-island trips by Cat Cocos are quick and reasonably comfortable. Getting luggage checked in is a bit of a hassle on the Mahe side - less so from Praslin. In Mahe allow at least 30 minutes before boarding. Lots of visitors so the boat is quite full each time we used it. Bring your own water etc for the 1 1/4 hour travel time as there are no services on board.
