About
Island Bazaar is a Maldivian owned and run lifestyle brand and boutique based in Male', Maldives. With respect for cultures, reviving tradition and heritage, our series of homeware, apparel and jewellery collections embodies tranquil and warm styles. We love exploring impressions and objects from the past and translate them in our designs to reminisce the present in a simplistic way. And we collaborate with local artists and encourage them to showcase their talents, and offer an inclusive platform, to celebrate individuality. We are located on Fareedhee Magu [street]above the shop, Sea Sports.

It's actually a good store with nice, high-quality products. Unfortunately, the selection was quite poor during our visit. It is also difficult to understand why the price is hardly displayed for any of the products. The prices we asked for differed greatly from the prices listed online. The two sales assistants looked very bored as we looked at various products. There was no sign of any willingness to advise us.

I was really looking forward to visiting the store because they had unique items unlike your traditional souvenirs; however, I was so disappointed by my experience. First, there were four employees just standing there staring at me without a friendly greeting. Second, everything I inquired about was out of stock. Third, the quality of the items were very poor. The scarves and pouches fabric were very average and did not justify the price. Fourth, you have to ask what the price is for everything since it’s not labeled. And lastly, I did buy a small item and it was already wrapped. When I got back and opened it clearly has sun damage to it and was discolored. The only thing this store offers is a great social media employee.

Elegant and well trought-out. European in style, with local wares, a little bit steep on the prices. Beautiful overall. Obviously thought out for tourists, I cannot decide whether this is good or bad.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our (still new) boutique. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us some feedback.
While majority of our customers have been locals, our hope is that the boutique can cater to both local and international customers.
All our products are fair trade, handmade and customised creations, and the prices are a reflection of the relatively new and unique concept. We are continuing to work with our designers, artisans and producers to continue to evolve and provide more feasible options.

We had a wonderful experience at Island Baazar. We were greeted and offered a tour of the shop, in which they explained the hand crafted artisan selection. Everything was beautiful. Staff were so kind and accommodating as well.

This is a beautiful boutique with some really nice products. They mostly stock items made by local designers and artisans, which is what makes this boutique unique, but they also have some internationally 'curated' items, such as candles from a small Aussie company called Ivy & Wood. I appreciate the boutique's efforts to support the local economy and upcoming/aspiring Maldivian and international entrepreneurs and artists.
They also sell Island Bazaar branded items, including cushions, tote bags, t-shirts and jewellery that are designed in a way that honours 'all things Maldivian' (they have done this in a classy, subtle way so these are not generic, souvenir-type items). I bought a tote bag from here, which is great quality, and I would definitely buy more of these as gifts for friends.
They also sell Island Bazaar branded items, including cushions, tote bags, t-shirts and jewellery that are designed in a way that honours 'all things Maldivian' (they have done this in a classy, subtle way so these are not generic, souvenir-type items). I've been beginning of December in island bazaar. They have sooo many lovely souvenir.
Yes like other wrote price are not cheap but you have quality and you can support local artists. You don't have to confuse with other souvenir shops!! It's a special one!
For me was a nice cushion cover and a maldivian cookbook .

Tired of shopping around the busy streets of male'? If u are just visit my favorite little boutique to get local made products in a reasonable price. I own my swimwear, comfortable tights, shoulder bags to cushions from this shop. Place will make you feel you r in the right shop from Maldives to get your souvenirs to home. Don't forget to buy a handmade fridge magnet back to home. 💚💙

We are on Fareedhee Magu, one of the main streets in Central Male'. Nearby landmarks are Seagull Cafe', and the super market Fantasy. You can find us on google maps. We are on the first floor just above the surf shop, Sea Sports. Hope that helps :)
