About
The KLCC - Bukit Bintang Walkway is a 1.173km-long pedestrian bridge that connects the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to the Impiana KLCC Hotel, KL City Walk and Pavilion shopping mall. There are several entrance and exit points (escalators and staircases) along the bridge. With the KLCC - Bukit Bintang Walkway, people can travel safely, conveniently and comfortably on foot from the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre all the way to Bukit Bintang, and vice versa. Opened in January 2012 by Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the bridge is a safe, comfortable and convenient alternative to the city’s busy roads for pedestrians.

It’s slightly confusing as it’s not clearly marked but it’s a way of avoiding the traffic . Be aware that the convention center closes at times which restricts access after hours .The Aircon didn’t also workVisited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 9, 2024
- nyalpiHong Kong, China217 contributionsAway from the traffic!A welcome relief in a city that is very pedestrian unfriendly! Nice to get away from the many cars and exhaust fumes and noise and heat. The main downside is that the walkway is devoid of any attempt at beauty -- some artwork on the walls may be nice so it doesn't just feel like a sterile and purely functional walkway. For a city that wants the tourist to spend money, I was surprised there were no stalls along the way......but maybe it's a place to have temporary relief from commercialism?!Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten May 24, 2024
- Matthew JWarrington, United Kingdom407 contributionsEfficient (if you can call it that!)We used this pedestrian walkway frequently to get between the Pavilion shopping centre and KLCC. It's a really convenient walkway and definitely is far more efficient than walking round outside. Before you get to KLCC, there is a convention centre you pass through where you can grab a Starbucks Coffee or nip the toilet. You also don't feel like you're walking for miles along the walkway making it an ideal way of getting between these two places. And because it's not a form of public transport, you avoid the any kind of train or bus fare. The only thing to point out is that the "air-conditioning" (if there was any) wasn't particularly strong. It was still cooler than the outside but clearly insufficient to mitigate the exorbitant Malaysian temperatures! Overall, I would highly recommend using this pedestrian walkway.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 26, 2024

A much better way of getting around than on foot at street level. Often faster than driving or taking a cab. We've used this during the day to avoid the sun and at night to avoid the rain, we always felt safe, even with young children in tow.

Easy access from Grand Hyatt (via Walkway to the Menara Darussalam lobby) by taking either the escalator or the elevator. Because access is open to the hot/humid weather, the AC is not strong enough to keep the stuffy corridor cool. Westerns tend to walk on the right, while the locals walk on the left. In the 6-person wide corridor, this mix of right-left walking habits results in even more overcrowding. Suggest marking a center line with arrows to indicate which side ppl should walk.
On overcast days, we opted to take the 5-min trek on the sidewalk to get to the Pavilion KL mall.

Convenient to use in rain and shine the elevated walkway connects straight from Pavilion to Petronas Towers. There are two entrances by the park, either underground from Suria mall or through Aquaria at the Convention center. There are guards to keep order, it is closed at night.

One has to take a walk. For the regulars, it could be a regular walkway. But for a visitor, it is truly a world class experience. This is another classic example of the progress that the city has seen that it is known for. April 2019.

This is a covered pedestrian bridge that connects KLCC Mall to Pavilion Mall. There are several entrance and exit points (escalators and staircases) along the bridge. The covered walkway is air conditioned in places and in others open to the outside, use it to avoid the sun, rain and traffic. It is very safe and convenient to use, always seems to be busy. Just wish there was a map or something we could have found to see all the routes and entranceways/exits

Using the route to visit the KLCC is amazing as it can save your time from traffic filled streets and mostly importantly, avoiding the scorching hot sun. It is also very convenient too. In addition, the walkway is well maintained and spotlessly clean.

When it rains in KL and the Monsoon season has lasted this year extremely long, it really pours down. The elevated walkway starts at Pavilion reaching out through the Convention Center into KLCC park. You can also continue to Suria Mall by the underground passage. There are escalators at all openings.

My wife and I walked the full length of this undercover pedestrian walkway from Pavilion Mall to KLCC to visit the observation deck of The Petronas Twin Towers, have lunch, do some shopping, walk across KLCC Park and then return along the Pedestrian Walkway back to Berjaya Times Square Hotel, where we were staying during our recent holiday in Kuala Lumpur.
It is good to have this infrastructure. A few years ago, when we first walked here, it was air-conditioned (very pleasant). This time around, there was no air conditioning.

There is an elevator and escalators at the Convention Centre end of the walkway.
At the Pavilion end there are escalators and elevators that service all floors of the shopping Mall.

Hi, Please let us know if this walkway will connect us to merana KL Tower from Petronas tower (KLCC Suria mall). Thanks. Deepak.

How far away from Ramada suites Kuala Lumpur ?
Walking distance or not !
Written May 10, 2018
The walkway goes from Pavilion Mall to the Convention Centre. Google maps says Ramada suites is 650 metres from the start of the walkway at the Pavilion Mall end so that is a walk-able distance to me.

How can i find pedestrian walkway ?
i'll stay near alor street .
Written January 7, 2017
It's quite easy. Jalan Alor is parallel to Jalan Bukit Bintang. Get on to Jalan Bukit Bintang, and proceed to shopping Mall called the Pavilion. Any local should be able to direct you. Once you get to Pavilion, go into the Mall and just ask Information for the pedestrian bridge to go to KLCC where the Twin Tower is located. It is really simple.

What type of ticket should be bought to visit Petronas Twin Towers by 02 adults. How to book a dinner at KL tower hotel ?
Thanks much obliged.

Queueing will offer a better price, but you need to wait awhile (sometimes you may even miss out - due to availability). Best off booking tickets online (or thru an agent) but they are more expensive.
Buy KL Menara Tower (Atmosphere 360) online....extra to reserve a window seat (highly recommended)....I think it's an extra 50myr++. Book for the second seating for dinner as you don't feel rushed.

Where do I begin from the KLCC end? Go to the same floor as the Aquarium?
Written January 31, 2016
Take the escalator /staircase in front of the aquarium (near Starbucks). One floor up. Turn right. You will see escalators, go up and you will be entering the walkway

Are we able to get breakfast there?
Are we able to organize driver pick-up from the airport?
Written December 30, 2014
Yes, plenty of places to get breakfast. Lots of restaurants, cafés, hawkers, Fast Food outlets. But most of them only open for biz from 9.30am or 10am onwards. I would recommend to have breakfast in the hotel you stay (if it's provided). Otherwise try out those coffee shops or hawkers who open very early. However do ask for the price of food before you order, most of them have fixed price. Those that do not display prices are the ones you have to watch out.
Getting a taxi from your hotel to the airport is not a problem at all. Just ask the hotel to get one, no additional charges. However, never try to get one yourself. Watch out for crooks, they'll cheat their way through. Usually a cab from hotel to airport cost around RM80 - RM100. Get one that issues receipt.
Hope you'll enjoy your holiday in KL.
