Probably visited when the orchid displays are limited and blooms have withered. Maybe sighted 5 different types, many areas taped to prevent entry while "work" progressed. As with the overall gardens, too many concrete paths wending uphill and not too friendly for senior legs.

After the orchid garden in Singapore this one is so poor. If u wanna visit there go before singapore :) But if you want to buy some Vanda seedlings here is the place for it, they are really cheap.

The landscaping of the site is nice and the garden is just opposite to KL Bird park. I think you should have a quick walk (like 30 mins) to visit the garden after visiting Bird Park. There is also orchid shops in garden from where you can buy baby orchids of 5 different color in a jar. The orchids will be fine in jar for 2 to 3 months, so don't worry if you are not returning home even within a month.

One of the prettiest things to see in KL. Took the hop on, hop off bus to the Bird Park stop. It was right across the street from the bird park. The Orchid Park is free and connected to the Hibiscus Garden. Walking through doesn't take long. Beautiful orchids in vivid colors. Didn't realize there were so many orchids and hibiscuses! Definitely worth the trip!

The Orchid Park, or Taman Orkid as it is called, is located opposite the Bird Park. It is also a part of the Lake Gardens. As you leave the Bird Park behind and cross the road, you are face to face at the Taman Orkid or Orchid Garden. It is a hectare long floral paradise where you can admire the orchids and obtain tips on how to grow them. Situated on a scenic hilltop within the Lake Gardens, this is the nicest park in KL.

We visited the Orchid and adjoining Hibiscus gardens today. Luckily we were staying close by, I would be a bit annoyed if I had travelled far to get there. The orchid gardens has quite a few plants of quite limitem variety. The whole place is very shabby and neglected; in desperate need of some huge upgrading and professional attention.
The hibiscus garden has a limited number of plants, in fact not many at all. Again very run down and in need of urgent maintenance.
I could not recommend either to anyone after experiencing the Orchid section at Singapore's Botanic Gardens.

The Orchid Park or also commonly known as Orchid Garden is located on a top of small hill opposite to the KL Bird Park. Orchid Garden is clean and beautifully landscaped and you get a lovely view looking into the city. It is impressive and stunning. For anyone who loves nature and beauty,it is an essential place to see. It is peaceful, calm and quiet place and just full of serenity without any hustle and bustle and simply breathtaking a one.
Be sure to check in at the Orchid Park, Bird Park and the Butterfly Garden while you are in the area as they are located closed by. It is such a lovely place to view some amazing orchids. Size of the garden is moderate. It is immaculately kept and so tranquil to walk around it. It is very beautiful and free to enter during the week days from Monday to Friday but they charge RM 1 during the week-end. They are open from 10 am to 6 pm.
The orchid flowers are lovely. There are water fountains and streams and also rock gardens made, that looks like heaven on earth. Hibiscus garden is nearby and it is equally as impressive as the orchid park. The flowers where amazing and an easy stroll around the garden for around thirty minutes max would make you happy even in sad situations. There were bathrooms available providing convenience to the visitors.
There are many attractions to go to in this area of KL, so I would recommend stopping in for a short while to see the orchids while in the area.Police museum, Bird Park and the Butterfly Park are in close proximity. It is only around 15 minute walk from either KL or KL Sentral stations.
An impressive eye catching selection of orchids, both large and small are found in it. If these are your pleasure, then your visit will worth a lot to you.The park that is made with lots of orchid flowers, beautifully gardened and very well, taken care of, to match one colour with another and with so many diversity of the petal shapes. There were less crowd during a week day (Monday) around 11 am.
The orchids looked like a mother taking care of her child is the feeling I got by looking at the amazing orchids in bloom. Shades cover for the orchids with a roof is also a nice architecture. I am sure you will really appreciate the garden and will inspire you to make a small garden in your own backyard.
The smaller varieties of orchids were all in pots and were placed together when they had flowers on them and then moved to elsewhere when flowers are fallen. By this method adapted, make sure that the garden is always with full of flowers thus giving visitors an idea Orchids bloom always.

Going to Taman Orkid is a treat from the busy life in KL. I walked from the LRT Station Pasar Seni over the the train station and then up into the park area (Butterfly Park, Bird, Park, etc) - ca. 20 min. The parks are not overwhelming but give you a break from busy city life. The orchid garden is quite nice but lacks labeling as has been pointed out in other reviews. It can still be relaxing in particular if you have time and sit down on some of the benches underneath the fans! The garden acutally has both an orchid and a hibiscus section - both of them are quite nice. The park is clean but looks a bit rough and if you have been to Singapore's garden - you will be disappointed. For me, I love flowers and there are always different orchids/hibiscus' flowering so it is nice to come here and spend 1-2 hrs walking around.

The two parks are on opposite sides of the city and are opposites in attraction.
The City Park was well tended and easy to get around with only one series of steps. Displays were well set out but a few labels were missing. Which was not a serious issue for us.
Well worth the time taken to walk to the park and view the displays.
