Fantastic experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We just popped in with no booking taking the chance we could be fitted in on the batik painting. We did a bigger project than the handkerchief. All equipment and materials we're provided. Really good English speaking staff. We got to choose our picture, traced the picture, outlined in wax and then used inks to colour. Once done our tutor dried and put it in a card frame. Had a mooch around the shop spent more than we were going to because they were great products. Well worth the experience. We may try at home now.

I spent an enjoyable , creative and mindful couple of hours here with my daughter. We arrived late (taxi trouble) but we were patiently accommodated and looked after by Roy. After choosing to use silk for our material ( there are choices of silk/ cotton, t-shirts and tote bags) he explained what we would do, showed us how to safely handle the tools. Then he guided us through the steps to build up our silk pictures. Although we felt very amateur besides the expert artists deftly creating their works with ease, we still came away with two acceptable ‘works’ of art. Definitely a well-spent two hours amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

I have a great experience in learning Batik printing on Tote bag, the instructor is very friendly & helpful 😀, and I have a great time taking photos & buying souvenirs.

As a Malaysian, I strongly recommend this place. 😁

We booked in to do the batik painting experience. This was fun with the staff quite helpful. You can choose the level of ease of the project and would be a great experience for some time out with kids as there are lots of choices. There is a huge souvenir shop attached and we did purchase a few small things. Overall a nice couple of relaxing hours .

The Jadi Batek gallery is not easy to find and is best approached by taxi or using a good street map. Once you have found it the Gallery offers a great insight into batik making as well as the chance to create your own masterpiece. The staff were all fantastic and could not have made us more welcome, even transforming a wax mistake into a unique addition to the design. We all left with a permanent souvenir of our day and a better insight into just how talented the artists are. Well worth the RM 50 for the batik and mount.

Okay place to stop and buy some nice hand painted batik, but I saw the same options at other places for better prices. Some pants I bought for MYR60 somewhere else were MYR135 there.

daughter and I enjoyed a few hours here . Booked thru website the day before ijust did a small silk one30cm x 40cm 80rm as I am not the most crafty of people which came out quite well , but daughter was confindent and chose lg silk one 90cm x 90cm 120rm in aprox 90 mins, what she didn't realise was the amount of work involved as she chose to do freehand design ! luckily for her it was very quiet in the workshop that day so a few of the other artists helped with finishing off the border ,otherwise I think we would have been there for hours ! we chose to return the next day for pick up {they have to fix the colours so as not to run] .The staff were great ,you could buy soft drinks ect if needed and the toilets were clean. We went by taxi butyou will have to walk to the main road ,not far to grab one on return.

We love this place. The welcome was warm and inviting to a huge showroom and production area. My son and I took up the challenge of making our own batek, with my wife and helper as backseat instructors! We had a terrific time batek painting with a lovely staff who helped salvage impending artistic disasters by turning our creations to something rather eye-catching, even if I say so myself. The General Manager and owner makes his rounds with the guests and chatted to us.
Jadi Batek is so much better than Royal Selangor Pewter. I will certainly visit again for more! Thank you guys

Located on Jalan Inai, off Jalan Imbi, this is one of the largest batik and handicraft centres of the city. what sets it apart from the rest is that classes are conducted here by master artisans teaching the finer art of batik making or painting. Classes must be booked in advance and charges start from RM50 depending on the size of the piece. We attended a class and really enjoyed ourselves. Bringing home our own creation made it more meaningful and memorable. The on-site shop also sells batik products and apparels as well as other local souvenirs and handicrafts like pewter, silverware, pressed flowers and wood carvings. Well worth a visit.

We called up independently and booked a 1hour batik class ( family - 2 adults, children aged 9, 13 and 16). Cost 50 RM each. Everyone enjoyed greatly and came away with piece of artwork that will be great memento of our trip. Staff not immediately friendly but very helpful and warmed up as session went on. Younger children would need adult help- think paint a pot! Chance to see lovely batik work, too.
