Come and visit Lazat Malaysian Cooking School and bring back an authentic taste of Malaysia! Our hands-on cooking classes are held Monday to Saturday and presented in English by entertaining Malaysian instructors. We are located just outside Kuala Lumpur city centre and our school is furnished with purpose made demonstration tables and individual cooking stations. Each day of the week we teach a different ethnic menu and provide detailed explanations of ingredients and cooking methods. Students individually prepare their own 4-course lunch, usually consisting of an appetizer, main course, side dish and dessert. Malaysian cuisine is a unique fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Baba-Nonya flavors, drawing upon our country's rich history as an historical crossroads for explorers and traders from around the globe. At LaZat our goal is to bring Malaysian cooking to the world by sharing with you our family recipes, which we have savored and perfected over generations.

We have just come back from the Malay classics day had a wonderful time learning to cook the country's traditional dishes. The market tour at the start of the day is informative and a great way to learn more about Malaysian culture. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and we made some delicious food. The whole class was amazing. We stated with a fun and informative tour of the local produce market where we learned a bit about the local culture. Then off to cook some tasty food! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Saadiah was a great teacher...she kept things fun and added a bit of local culture as well.... More

My son (19) and I really enjoyed our time at Lazat. From the on-time pick-up at the hotel, the the market tour and breakfast, and to the class itself. I like to learn how to do things and why you might do it a particular way and our instructor Saadiah did both in a friendly and caring way. It was... More

A great option for a day in KL, you are shown around a morning market and learn a lot about produce and taste some street food. You then head to the LaZat kitchen premises where we were lucky enough to be taught by the brilliant Saadiah. Lessons are fast-paced and interesting and packed with knowledge and fun. The food created... More

Been to a lot of cooking classes worldwide but at Lazat, food tasted great and instruction easy to follow. Ana and Laty make you feel welcome and didn't push you out for the next class. Will go again.

If you've seen all the sites and you're not too keen on shopping, this cooking class is a great option! I did the traditional Malay class on a Tuesday. We met at TTDI market, visited some stalls to learn more about Malaysian ingredients and taste tested some fresh cooked roti. Make sure to buy a few packets of the pre-cooked... More

The cooking school is located in the middle of the jungle and is half outdoors (bring mosquito spray!) which makes for an amazing experience. I loved the menu we cooked: the highlight was the beef rendang. I had eaten beef rendang in Malaysia before but the one I cooked in this class was by far the best one - all... More

At very short notice i asked Ana and her team to organise a special class for me to learn how to make one of my Malaysian favourites curry laksa. This was my sixth time back to Lazat and we had a great time again. Saadiah (our instructor) carefully showed us all the steps that go into making the laksa and... More

My sister and I went for the vegetarian malaysian class, and it was a beautiful and delicious experience. This cooking class provides a great ambience with exquisite malaysian cuisine and staff that felt like family. The jungle village makes for a perfect cooking setup. Food is the best way to understand a culture.
