Come and visit Lazat Malaysian Cooking School and bring back an authentic taste of Malaysia! Our hands-on cooking classes are held Monday to Saturday and presented in English by entertaining Malaysian instructors. We are located just outside Kuala Lumpur city centre and our school is furnished with purpose made demonstration tables and individual cooking stations. Each day of the week we teach a different ethnic menu and provide detailed explanations of ingredients and cooking methods. Students individually prepare their own 4-course lunch, usually consisting of an appetizer, main course, side dish and dessert. Malaysian cuisine is a unique fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Baba-Nonya flavors, drawing upon our country's rich history as an historical crossroads for explorers and traders from around the globe. At LaZat our goal is to bring Malaysian cooking to the world by sharing with you our family recipes, which we have savored and perfected over generations.

It was very nice to visit the cooking class. We started with visiting the market. After that we drove to the cooking studio & cooked together the original Malay-food. The personal was very nice and organization was professional. For people who are interested in cooking, it is a must, if you travel to KL. I will do it again!

Five classes done so far. Look forward to taking the last two courses. Starting of with the TDDI market tour (which is definitely worth to be part of once, but the other times you can skip it and do your own shopping :-)), warm welcome at the beautiful location (it doesn't feel like being in a big city like KL),... Saddiah our instructor chef was just amazing ... engaging, humorous and informative beyond just describing and illustrating the cooking. Very fond memories ... and great recipes!

We travel a bit and try to do a cooking experience in most paces we go. LaZat was picked up of a google search and did not disappoint. Booking from Australia was easy, prompt pick up at the hotel by a pleasant and polite driver Johnny. Our group today was small but all were engaging and interested making the day... More

This course was suggested by a colleague and I am so pleased to have taken part in it that I can't wait to come back! Next time I will definitely choose the morning course as the market ingredient shopping experience would be of great interest to me. However, the afternoon course is very suitable for people who are struggling with... More

As a bit of a foodie, I was looking for a cookery class that would be informative and fun. Ana Abdullah's classes score on all counts. You start with a visit to the market and breakfast at the roti stall. They are far too scared of Ana to give you anything less than the best. In the tour you learn... More

The cuisine my partner and I cooked was Thai food which worked in our favour since we LOVE Thai food. We were picked up first thing in the morning in a mini van and got taken straight to the market. Our tour guide was showing us different fruits that I have not even heard of, some of the stall holders... More

My husband and I loved this cooking class yesterday!! We took ours on a Saturday which meant we cooked authentic Malay, and it was so delicious! The morning starts with a tour around a market which is guided and full of interesting information and ended with a yummy roti! We then went back to the cooking school where we met... More

I thought this cooking class was absolutely brilliant - we cooked some truly great food that I cant wait to try on my own. We used natural ingredients and Saadihah our chef was very clear and spoke excellent english to explain each step and help us whenever we were struggling. The meals were not too complicated that I would never... More

We have just come back from the Malay classics day had a wonderful time learning to cook the country's traditional dishes. The market tour at the start of the day is informative and a great way to learn more about Malaysian culture. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and we made some delicious food. A taxi will pick you... More
