We went there by ferry from Ohato terminal. We have arrived at around 1 pm. We used shuttle bus from the ferry terminal to the beach. It takes 100 yen only which is very reasonable. Beach has bathing facilities, change room, rental floating tube, beach...More

Not very exiting, but there is a nice beach with very clear water. If you want to rent a bike, that's particularly difficult for non Japanese. They apparently don't like foreigners and always says that no bike are available. In the onsen, they are absolutely...More

The Japanese don´t care too much for swimming in the ocean. This must be the reason that beaches are hard to find. When in Nagasaki, the hot and sunny weather prompted us to ask for the nearest beach. It tokk a while to find someone...More

We didn't have high expectations of the beach after reading the previous reviews. Still we decided to give it a go. The ferry trip from the Nagasaki ferry terminal to the island through Nagasaki harbour was nice in itself. After arrival, the beach bus (100...More

Location is good, with short ferry ride from city. The down side is that local service staff is mis-treating foreign visitors and that really spoils one's day. My money will find an other destination.

only 30 min by car from Nagasaki city center. Can stay at yasuragi Ioujima resort hotel here and enjoy spa(Onsen) and fresh sea food. Famous place Gunkanjima is 30 min by shup from Ioujima.

The island is a great place to leave the bustle of Nagasaki behind for a while. Generally a bit faded and quiet but not unpleasantly so. We spent a lovely afternoon at the Onsen where you can bathe and soak in the outdoor tubs whilst...More

We opted for a trip to Iojima Island to have walk and to offer our son a bit of sun, sea and sand after visiting the Atomic Bomb Museum the day before. We expected the island to be quiet, but it was so empty it...More

We used to live in Nagasaki and Iojima was our favourite destination on weekend. You can catch a small ferry from Ohato port to this island - make sure you buy an Onsen (yasuragi-Iojima hot spring) inclusive ticket that is actually cheaper than just the...More
