We traveled up to the top on the Nagasaki Rope line. Went up around 9:00 pm and stayed about 45 minutes. The rope line trip up is approximately 5 minutes.

Nagasaki is situated in a natural amphitheater and the best view is from this 1,000 foot summit reached by both cable car and road. Well worth the trip using either method.

Lovely during the day, and enchanting by night. We arrived late in the day, to coincide with the twilight hours ending in the evening. A 270 degree of the city, harbour, ports, and residential hills, and then, magically, the skies dim, and slowly, street lights...More

Caught the rope way up on Thursday 3 May -a national holiday. Went to restaurant to get the view without being outside. Restaurant food not great but not expensive either. Left at 8.15pm to get cable down and had to queue for over an hour!

Nagasaki’s night view is spectacular. With Nagasaki port at the center, mountains loom on three sides. Homes and city lights populate the slopes, their lights mingling with the twinkling stars in the sky. Nagasaki’s splendid night view can be enjoyed from many parts of the...More

A stunning view, even on a smoggy day/night. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the portion sizes were huge. It took us over an hour in a line to get back down the mountain via cablecar at about 8:30pm. Everyone tries to leave...More

We opted for a ride up the Nagasaki Ropeway up to Mt Inasa. The views are amazing, well worth the trip as you can see all of Nagasaki City. The staff are friendly and the cable car runs every 20 mins.

The view is stunning from the top of Mt. Inasa and the commentary on the rope-way gondola is spoken in Japanese, then has an English translation. The staff was very helpful but spoke limited English--just enough to let us know when the gondola left and...More

I am giving this a rating of 4 because of the views. The crowds (bus tours etc.) would have rated a 2 or 3 as it is almost impossible to get your photos if you arrive too late as everyone sticks to the rails and...More

Travel by streetcar to the base of Mount Inasa, then walk to the ropeway and head towards one of the best night views you have ever seen. Beautiful and worthwhile ending your sightseeing trip of Nagasaki. If you have visited the atomic bomb center during...More

You can drive all the way up to the top of Mt Inasa and there are some parking spaces (about 20 only).

If you can get to Nagasaki Station, there's bus No. 5 right outside it that will take you to like more than halfway up the mountain and you can walk up for like 20 minutes from where you get off the bus; that will be cheaper... More
