I have joined the mocha/Japanese tea ceremony and wearing the kimono. Tomomi is such a great host, kind and friendly. As a foreigners, we know nothing about Japanese ritual and rites but Tomomi patiently led us how to appreciate their tea ceremony and how to wear kimono. The kimono is so beautiful and every girl would love them no matter what race you are! Making a mocha is not that simple as we think and the ritual and rites is also interesting.
Take the chance to try especially girls and it's so interesting and would add colour to your Osaka trip!

Our family had a great experience of learning to wear the Kimono and being introduced to the fine art of the matcha tea ceremony by our gracious host, Tomomi. We learned about KT through the internet when we were looking for a place to experience the tea ceremony while in Osaka. It had very good reviews and so we called for an appointment with a kind, English speaking Japanese lady whom we later got to meet. Her name is Tomomi and she singlehandedly conducts teaching her guests the art of wearing the Kimono and then making and sampling the Matcha green tea. She is highly recommendable and will give you a first hand experience not only of her craft but also the warm Japanese hospitality in her home.

Tomomi was a great host, inviting us in her own home, a traditional Japanese home by the way. Really nice to experience this for once.
Tomomi was very friendly and her english was good. She was able to answer all our questions. Plus she had some nice Japanese books on the table as well.
She helped us putting on our kimono and obi’s, and took many pictures which will be send to us by e-mail.
It was a unique experience and I would recommend it to anybody visiting Japan! Especially at Tomomi, since this was in her own home and groups are small. In our case it was just the two of us. Not a standard and/or massive excursion.
Tomomi, thanks for the nice experience!

Not entirely sure what to expect, I booked this event. This was the highlight of our visit to Osaka.
Tomomi invited us into her beautiful home and introduced us to the traditional tea ceremony. But first, we had to pick out and put on one of the magnificent kimonos. Quite an adventure!
This is something I would highly recommend: intimate (maximum of 4 guests), authentic and a fun experience!

My husband and I went for Tomomi's 10:30 session. There could have been up to 4 people, but it was just the two of us. It was located in her beautiful apartment and Tomomi was very friendly, walking us through each step of dressing in the yukatas. She made sure to mention historic and symbolic meanings behind the techniques. Making the tea was a lot of fun, though your legs will get sore. Again, it felt very authentic and Tomomi mentioned the differences between what we were doing as tourists and how things would actually be done in a ceremony. This class was educational and delicious, plus Tomomi took lots of pictures and promptly emailed them all to me!

The most beautiful experience learning about the japanese culture with the most gorgeous host. Incredibly knowledgable and eager to answer every question about Japan and its culture. Tomomi was the perfect host and the tea ceremony paired with the kimono dressing was easily one of our favourite activities in Japan.

This was a fun glimpse into Japanese culture. You don't just wear a kimono, you learn how to put one on. And you don't just taste tea, you learn how to prepare matcha. Tomoni is super friendly and speaks excellent English. We had a great time, definitely recommend this experience!

Although not entirely traditional, this was a really nice experience. The host speaks really good English, and explains the process and ceremony of making tea and also shows you how to put on your kimono. It was a lot of fun!

I don't think so. She runs it from her apartment as a second job. I'd say booking is necessary :)

Does the session including hairdo also ? Or is it only for kimono wearing and tea ceremony ? I want to walk around nearby areas in kimono also . Is that possible ?

Tomomi quickly fixes your hair and put special decoration of your choice, however it is not proper geisha/maiko's hairdo
