Located inside Nagai Park, entry is free with your Osaka Amazing pass, otherwise it is chargeable. Good for those who like museums and history. Vist if you have the time and when visiting Nagai park.

We went to the museum because it was included in the osaka amazing pass. It is a bit of a walk from the train station but it was worth it. As you walk into the building there is a small exhibit of insects and stuffed birds and upstairs from that is the exhibit you would have to pay extra for. We were disappointed when we thought that was all we got on the osaka pass so we went out the back of the building into the botanic gardens (also included on the pass) where we found large whale skeletons hanging from an undercover area. We then realised the rest of the included exhibit was through some doors there. This is where all the dinosaur bones and other interesting things are. So don't forget to go there! Again it would be excellent if you read Japanese but as we couldn't it was more of a look. I found it very interesting though as I hadn't been to a museum with dinosaur bones before.

It's a bit of a walk from the train station but good exercise. The place is small for a museum but I can see how it can interest the locals. It was enough to satisfy my 4 year old future paleontologist but definitely not something I would recommend as a "must visit" in Osaka.

This museum is bit out of the way. The exhibits were not great, 90% of the descriptions are written Japanese. Unless you are really into insects you might want to give it a miss.

We visited the Osaka Museum of Natural History which was one of the attractions covered under the Osaka Amazing Pass. The museum aims to show the scheme and structure of "nature" surrounding humans, and to convey on how Nature has transformed to its present state. It also showcases many interesting wildlife and nature that can be found in the daily lives of people living in Osaka. It would be better if the explanation could be in English as well. It would be an interesting place for kids too.

I happened to have some free time and decided to check it out. Though small, it is packed to the brim with fossils and such.

I can explore Japanese stories in several exhibitions within the castle. However, it need to remain its own original part like Himeji. Most things seem to be for tourists.

This museum provides insights back thousands of years when dinosaurs ruled the Japan. Exhibition leads you through 5 periods of time. You can see artefacts from the era of dinosaurs all the way to beginings of human life.
Museum is surrounded with botanical garden so you can take a walk and admire all kinds of trees, flowers, etc. It can take a whole day to see it all especially if you traveling with your partner.
