We came right at dusk, and it was jammed packed. This little district was hopping, from restaurants, boat tours, a very unusual Ferris wheel, and people watching galore. Takoyaki every other store. Fresh tuna carving shows. Good bars with Japanese craft beer. You could walk...More

Dotonbori certainly is less exciting during the day but you could actually enjoy the little details, like the small eaters. There are still a bunch of tourist but you donโ€™t have to zigzag through the crowd. Give it a try!

Crazy colourful shopping district. Must see. We did a small tour here that took us away from the usual street area. Would recommend doing this first so you get to know a bit of the area as it can be daunting at first. For me...More

The amount of people that were here on a Friday about 4 PM was absolutely crazy. The shops had garish signs. Lots of people were eating and walking so I'm guessing there is some good food here. We didn't stay long enough to find out....More

You would have to be boring to not enjoy it here. Plenty of bars and restaurants. I was even taken to a hidden pay-trance club. Lots of shopping during the day too. A very Japanese city experience.

Absolutely. Just as a note, most of the food stall food items are made to be eaten immediately or they end up not as tasty. However, they can and will package everything to take home, if desired.
