All-in-one place. Very lively, tourist-y and Instagram-worth destination. Best to go here at night. Be sure to get a nice spot at Ebisubashi to get a selfie with Glico Man. Fried tako was amazing! Be patient to fall in line at Ichiran. We always go here when in Osaka.

One long strip if different shops, cafe's, restaurants. Good for rainy days. Try a different kind of Yoshinoya in the strip if you like Yoshinoys's but are also lots of selection in the area. You can also walk from there to Kurumon Market.

Pretty similar to all of the other busy shopping areas, thousands of people, tons of blinking lights and hundreds of shops. Worth a visit but it gets old after a while.

Especially at night the place comes alive. You can try any kind of delicacy in the thousands of restaurants in the area. All the noise of people trying to try you to go into their mostly tiny eatery or just standing around to eat it straight up.

Great area, extremely lively. It's sort of like Vegas meets Venice Beach, giant billboards surrounding a picturesque canal. Be sure to try the street food.

This part of Osaka must be the most colorful and lively in my opinion. There are so many things hanging around from weird statues to commercial boards that it seems to be the circus. With the many restaurants around you won't starve either, just stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere.

So many shops from discount, designer brand stores and many eateries to chose from. Good place for people watching, boat cruise and fun.

I'm giving Dotonbori five stars because of everything it has to offer. Every food imaginable can be found here, and the scene is great. If you get tired of the hustle on the strip, just step over one block and take a walk down the river. I would definitely go back here if we ever travel to Osaka again.

This neighborhood is a garishly colorful, neon-lit, chaotic jumble of restaurants and hawker stands astride a very pretty little river. From the crazy signage to the kushiage to the antics of the ice cream vendor to the happy crowds which include dogs in costume, it's a must visit.
