Kaiyukan is an attractive architectural building and aquarium. Not only is the complex's design wonderful to look at, but the main tank inside housing large mammals, from rays to whaleshark is incredible. The tank's acrylic glass is thick and the walkway spirals for 6 floors around it. So as you walk down each floor you observe the fish in the... More

Went via the ferry from Universal port Osaka Hotel to the aquarium. Great trip getting there, but limited times returning (check timetable before leaving pier). The aquarium didn't look so big, but once inside it seemed to go forever, the kids were rapt. It was set up for different locations around the world, with sea creatures I had never heard... More

Easy to get to by subway. Very busy - had to queue for tickets for 25 minutes in baking sun. Got through this and found the aquarium to be packed throughout. You follow a route past some large tanks such as for dolphins (no dolphin show), seals, penguins and more general (including whale sharks) etc. - some tanks very small... More

Nice design by walking down the staircases that are surrounded by large viewing tanks. Have almost everything you would expect at an aquarium.

My family loves this place. Come one, how can we not when there are 2 whale sharks, Sun Fish, Hammer shark in the tank? Just beware there will be a lot of tourists inside, but for some reason the deeper we walk the less of tourists left. After you finish with the aquarium, you can take the boat for a... More

It was rather okay, nothing fantastic. We finish the entire aquarium within 90 mins or less and mind you, there was huge crowd at the time we went.

This is a huge and as aquariums go it's maybe the best I've seen (certainly the biggest). The walk is a long downward spiral after beginning with an escalator to the top. This is a good place for a family visit.

Ok, the place is big. They have plenty of fish. They have two whale sharks, and that is pretty awesome. There is plenty to see, no doubt about it. However it all depends on the comparison. I have been fortunate enough to see aquariums in places like Lisbon, Valencia, Vancouver, Okinawa, Monterey, Sydney, Cape Town and Shanghai. Compared to those... More

Its a good experience if not visited Sentosa or other aquariums. There is a shark fish, octopus, jelly fishes, etc. Overall a good experience.

The aquarium is quite big. It's constructed in a clever way where you start on the top and then go down in a spiral and get to see the big aquariums from all angles. The whale shark is big and impressive to see.
