Near this park, along the river, is full of cherry trees. I was very lucky to have caught the full bloom day right before I left. I rode my friend's bike along the path - watching beautiful cherry blossom gleaming under the sun, totally mesmerizing! Truly once in a life time experience.

We went to Kema Sakuranomiya Park on our way to Osaka Castle and it was a pleasant stop. When we were there early April 2013, sakura (cherry blossoms) in the park along the river were in full bloom which made this park gorgeous. We could even see Osaka Castle in the distance. When we were there, there were not a lot of tourists (which was exact opposite to Osaka Castle). Mostly it's locals biking in the park--so watch out for those bikes!
It's very easy to go there--just take Loop Line 2 stops from Osaka Station to Sakuranomiya stop. It's 2 stops before Osakajo-koen stop (Osaka Castle). Kema Sakuranomiya Park is a good place to relax and take a break from a hectic day traveling in Osaka. Since it's close to Osaka Castle, try to fit it in your schedule on the same day you plan to visit Osaka Castle. Give it an hour or so for a pleasant stroll and perhaps a picnic. During cherry blossom season, it's also a good alternative to a much more crowded Osaka Castle garden.

We were in blossom season and indeed it was the day the wonderful trees in the mint were first opened to public and all along the river there were hundreds of food stalls. It was magic

This is the first attraction we visited in Osaka because we do not want to miss the Cherry Blosssom. It did not disappoint. Holy week in April 2017 is the best viewing time for Cherry Blossom. We visited in the afternoon and stayed until early evening to experience both the day and night viewing

This Park is great for nature lovers and romantics and even the young at heart. I rated it excellent because of the following: Easy to reach. Get the JR transit and find Osaka loopline. The ticket machine has english instructions. We were near Bentencho station so we got ours there(tickets). It is free or no entrance fee.Locals come here most of the time so no crowd unlike in Osaka castle. Then it is near water. When going to Japan look for the expected Hanami for that year(seasons change). One can only find Hanami or Cherry blossom watching two to three weeks a year so choose your dates carefully. We went there on a beginning Sakura or falling of the blossoms and it is beautiful. Like raining white petals. No fee and just 20 steps from the station(believe it,it's that convenient). No food stands there so we brought our own food from any convenience store and water from our Hotel. Who said the best things in life are not free?

This park is a amazing place to view cheery blossoms, right after we stepped out of the train station we could already see a row of sakura trees in front of the station. It's my first time seeing Sakuras in real life and it's a beautiful sight to hold.
I came at a weekday in the morning and there isn't any many people so we had a really quiet and peaceful view, it's a huge park and I think we took around 90 mins to walk 1 round (slow walking with taking pictures at times) of the whole park.
Totally recommended to visit this park for some Sakura viewing!

Don’t go unless it’s cherry blossom season, it’s a nice park but without the blossoms it wasn’t great. Close to a subway though!

Went here on two different occasions, once just before sunset and another during my bicycle tour. The flowers here are so pretty! You can also see the occasional water boat tours along the rivers. It's quite fun to watch people doing hanami (literally means watching flowers) chatting and barbecuing around the park. It's an awesome place just to hang around for an hour or two, taking pictures and have a nice lunch!
