About
Andy, your half Japanese/half Australian guide or friend will show you the incredible ghetto, retro zone, yakuza, redlight district, gambling dens and neighbourhood alleys of deep Osaka. Also you’ll be treated to a delicious traditional meal at a local family restaurant. We strive to show you the authentic Osaka, where you get a real and indepth understanding of the inner workings of this amazing city, visiting some astonishing architecture which is steeped in history and some run down, derelict areas too…..not what Osaka Tourism wants you to see! Andy has extensive knowledge of the Osaka region and can answer all your queries. We hope it’s going to be an eye opener and a real shock to the senses!
Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan

My wife and I did this tour last night. Great to meet other travellers. Andy’s Tour lived up to and surpassed our expectations. Andy gives a thoughtful, knowledgeable, friendly, and interesting insight into Osaka and Japanese culture. He makes you feel welcome and comfortable to ask questions about local culture. The food was also great. Highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing fun evening with Adam Christmas night. One of the highlights of our Japan trip ❤️. Adam’s enthusiasm and commentary on life in Osaka/Japan was fantastic. 5 restaurants, delicious bites, interesting drinks, interactions with vending machines (!!) and many many laughs!

Taking us to Shinsaibashi on the way home was service above and beyond.

We were a group of 9 with “kids” aged 18, 15 and 11. We all loved every minute. Big big shout out to Adam!

Don’t hesitate, book this tour!

Awesome vibes on this tour. Would 100% take a tour with Deuce again. He was awesome. Really cool to see his rapport with everyone in the neighborhood. He also did a great job making conversation with everyone in the group.

Oh yeah, and the food and drink was great too :-)

Awesome tour with Matt the tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and social/cultural aspect of the area. Make sure you have comfy shoes, check the weather and take a bottle of water. Very worthwhile tour.

We had such a good time. Our tour guide was so much fun and the wealth of knowledge concerning the seedier areas of Osaka. It was truly a backstreet tour with a walk-through the red light district. What an eye-opener. Never in my life have I done such a thing and yet it was so amazingly interesting. I totally recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know about the wild side of Osaka and walk-through it. Lol!
Thanks also to our tour guide who told us about the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Tokyo and the Abeno Harukas Observatory where we could see a 360° view of Osaka.

Kevin was a great guide! Straight from the off he waited for us even though we were slightly late due to train drama. Very much appreciated! The tour itself was lovely and led at a calm pace with lots of conversation. The red light district was a highlight along with the meal at the end (which was superb!). Really enjoyed this tour, well worth the money. Thank you!

In all honestly my 22 yr old son and I thought we signed up for a food tour:). We were slightly disappointed at first but the tour made up for it. Saw the “unseen” side of Osaka and not the touristy side. Felt like we had a real glimpse of the real Japan while really appreciating the culture. Luca was great in explaining the Japanese culture and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you!

An awesome look at the lesser looked at parts of Osaka. Mainly in the Shinsekai region
Our guide Luca was very informative and was able to project his voice to all in the group.
The optional dinner was a great way to finish the evening.

Our guide was Luca and he did a great time showing up around and giving up a unique look at Osaka, its history, and what may be coming in the years to come. I would recommend making this one of your first tours of the area as there are some areas I wish I'd had time to revisit (sadly this was on my last day). Even though it was raining pretty steadily our group had a great time and I saw things I don't think I ever would see otherwise.

Bennett and Luca did a great job taking us around to parts of Osaka that tourists rarely can get a glimpse of on their own. From the shrines, temples, back alley eateries with authentic Osaka soul food, to the outgoing and friendly Osakan people we met along the route, and respectfully bringing attention to the seldom-discussed homeless of Osaka - this experience will elevate your understanding of Japan and the culture and be the highlight you discuss with others when you get home.
