A modest shopping mall also the day tours' pickup/dropoff point!

Well, for foreign visitors who opted for day tours to Kyoto, Nara or Kobe, you are likely to come to this place as it is the official pickup/dropoff point of tour coaches. The subway station is just below it and right inside the building is a modest shopping mall. We were dropped off at this place after our day tour to Kyoto and Nara. And it was a Sunday at around 5.15pm. The place seemed quite quiet and a bit "deserted" as there were not many shoppers then which surprised us, comparing to neighbouring streets and areas like Namba, Shinsaibashi or Dontoburi that were always full of shoppers and visitors. Upon entering into the main building, you will see shops selling fashion, shoes, wine, lifestyle items, besides that, there are a few tour agencies, bakeries & cafes and also a Daiso (the 100 Yen chain store). There are also some makeshift food stalls. On the basement was McDonalds and some restaurants and above the next few storeys were offices and some business centers. At the basement level leading to the subway station, there is quite a huge supermarket. Since it was still early to have dinner, we decided to walk around the mall and explored it (before heading for dinner near our hotel). As mentioned, it was very quiet and only a few shoppers around. Nothing special or unique here as what are offered here can be easily found at other places. So generally, there is no USP (unique selling point) here. After walking for about a good 40mins (including 25mins spent in Daison where we bought some stuff), we went to the supermarket and grabbed some fruits and snacks, before taking the train back to Osaka Station to have our dinner. Well, this place is not worth coming specifically or purposedly for it as there is nothing much to see or do here. But if you are transiting or being dropped off here from your day tour, well, no harm visiting it as its "along the way" to the subway station and you may also like to visit the washroom too!

The bus is comfortable and safe. Terminal is clean and organised and can easily purchase tickets.

Traveling from airport to city, take note that driver do not speak English therefore it'd be good to seek help from the airport ticketing attendant to inform the driver where you'd like to alight. The bus stops at 2-3 station and he'll gesture to you if he knows that's your station and that you do not understand the language.

Our apartment was near the Dotonbori area and when it was time for us to go to the airport, we took a cab to the OCAT. It was a Saturday and we saw the Tourist Info Center open. We inquired about storage lockers and bus tickets going to Kansai. This info center is actually run by Japan Holiday Travel. We ended up buying the bus tickets and leaving our luggages with them while we waited in the terminal. However there are also self-store lockers in the ground and 2nd floor as options and you can also buy tickets from the machine on the second floor. Buses for Kansai airport leave every 30 minutes and will take 45 minutes travel.

cleanest airport and one which is so simple and yet appealing. The airport is relatively smaller but alays busy though. I travelled from Tokyo to Osaka and the whole process of baggage arrival and exit after customer formalities was quite fast. impressive as always with any Japanese airports

We arrived via the middle east and ended up here which felt like a detention centre to isolate any contagious disease as it was far from the main terminal but accessible to international terminals, via frequent free buses.

There's a money change centre with a local ATM too.

This is a bus center where long-distance buses depart and arrive. Buses from Osaka Itami Airport also depart and arrive here. There is a ticket vending machine at the bus departure stop, so I think you can easily purchase a ticket. I bought my ticket online in advance and showed the screen on my mobile phone when I boarded the bus.
There are various miscellaneous goods on sale on the first floor. If you have time before the bus departs, it might be worth a look.
