A beautiful end-of-winter breeze can be felt on the top the castle while sightseeing. The top veranda has gave me a good vantage point for the city on a 360-degree angle. It was simply amazing!

Osaka castle tour concept is very similar to the Lei Feng Ta tour concept. The historical write up is every interesting. The walk around the park is free and the ambiance is nice. If you do not like to read the historical write up, then...More

The park and the walk around the moat are beautiful. You can get some interesting ice cream at the shops. Plenty of barbecue. Gets a little crowded on the weekends.

Love how they visualise the history in a short movies. And they even have special line for baby stroller so its comfortable for me and baby to enjoying the tour. The staff are friendly even it is crowded inside. Beautiful castle!

The park is quite large from either stations it take about 15mins to reach the castle when walking fast. You can take a train car but I didn't bother seeing how much that was. When you arrive to the castle grounds, there's a huge shop...More

Not the most exciting part of my Osaka trip, but it was worth a visit in my opinion. Admission is free, and there are food carts and performers around it so they keep you fairly entertained. I didn't end up going into the castle itself,...More

We walked here from our hotel and enjoyed the beautiful gardens and outside of the castle. When we got there, the tour for inside seemed a bit pricey... we quickly looked at the TripAdvisor reviews and opted not to go in. We'd already done Hiroshima...More

Take time and enjoy the beautiful Osaka castle and surroundings. Great history lesson. Fantastic during the cherry blossom period, but a must any time of year.

Easily accessible by metro. Several stations stop close by. The park is beautiful to walk round and you get to see the castle! Can be quite busy so I suggest a mid morning visit.

You can use trains (rail or subway), but the closest one is by city bus. The bus stop is more closer to the main entrance area then train station. You can stop at Banbacho bus stop.
Is the park open to the public in the evening? I mean the area directly around the castle? I want to take some evening photos. Thanks.

Checkout the Osaka Castle web site. The area surrounding the castle is a city park and there are plenty of places for great photos. I assume the gates to the inner castle area close at some point. The web site states the... More

We went in March and there was a couple of spots.... 1 inside and 1 outside the castle. Outside was free (they took a professional photo without obligation to buy), and also one on your own camera /phone. Inside you can... More
