(Disclaimer: As I am the first person to review this place and just added it to the listing, I am therefore unable to upload and share any photo).

We were on our way to Tenjinbashi Shopping Street and passed by this Farmers Market. Unlike the traditional or open-air farmers market, this is in a mall, fully airconditioned and so shopping here for groceries is a bliss! It's just a good 5-7 mins walk from the Tenma JR station.

Covering 3 storeys (basement and 1st storey), one can shop for daily groceries ranging from meat, seafood, vege, fruits etc all under one roof. There are tens of stalls selling "me too" items and prices are quite consistent even among different stall holders. The spread and variety are extensive and prices here are competitive, at least much cheaper than the prices at the supermarkets of Daimaru, Takashimaya, Hankyu or Eki Mache.

The interesting part is that you do not pay at the respective stall when you pick up your items, but to pay at the centralised cashiers counters instead. Not sure if all these stalls belong to the same boss, I wonder how do they know the exact price of the item and from which stall as the price may vary slightly. But nonetheless, the prices charged by the cashiers were accurate!!! Amazing. But there's always a long queue here.

On the basement is the Supermarket (ran by another operator). Right here, you can also pickup the sundry items, household items, frozen food and ice cream, beverages etc besides groceries and fruits (but the prices of these items are slightly more expensive than the stall holders on the 1st storey).

Generally it was quite a fun and interesting shopping experience for us here and enjoyed the cooling environment as it was very warm outside. We ended up buying quite a lot of things here before heading to the shopping street, about a 7 min walk from here.

Recommended.

I reviewed this place 2 years ago and in our recent trip back to Osaka, we also came by here on our way to Tenjinbashi. It gave us a "familiar" feeling and it was still quite crowded with locals doing their marketing and grocery shopping. (on the day of our visit, it was a weekday at around 9am and was drizzling outside)

Its a good place to shop for local produces such as fresh meats, seafood, fruits and vegetables as they carry a wide variety and some at attractive prices but differ from stall to stall. However, a great number of stalls were not in business operations.

On the basement is the Promart supermarket where you can also get the can food, bottles of sauces, frozen meat, confectionery and pastry items etc.

After getting some foodstuff from here, we continued our short walk to Tenjinbashi!

Overall, the prices here are definitely cheaper than other supermarkets in the downtown or at convenience stores. They are very fresh, huge and come with a wide variety as well!

If happens to be in Osaka and renting an apartment where cooking can be done, then must visit Pulala Temma (天滿市場), not Kuromon Ichiba Market (黑門市場)where things are getting expensive. There is not many tourist and mostly visited by locals. Plenty of choice for meat and fish, including fresh oyster.

The whole town is dirty. There are a lot of Yakuza and semi-gangsters wandering around and it's scary.
At the restaurant, they told me to leave if I wasn't drinking.
The prices are high and the food is terrible.
A certain sushi restaurant is expensive, bad and unfriendly.
I think the Kitashinchi area and Minami Namba areas are more atmospheric and easier to go to.
I'll never go to Ura Tenma again.

The staff are nice, but the customer base is bad. I was looking at products in a narrow aisle when a big man came from the other direction and suddenly ran into me and knocked me down on the products. I was waiting for my credit card to pay at the register and was packing up my items because I had some time to spare, when an old man behind me yelled at me, "Don't pack up here, you idiot!" (He didn't understand that it had no effect on his own time at the register). The customer base is bad. Maybe they look down on me because I'm a young woman alone. There are quite a few types of people (people who fit the image of Osaka as a dangerous place) that you don't see at other nearby supermarkets. The market itself is cheap and convenient, but the customer base is disappointing.

You can buy food with cheap price.
In 1950’s around here was one of the largest food market in Osaka. So in present, you can find small shops and restaurants around here.

If you’re not foodies, just boring place.

I had some business at Tenma Station, so I stopped by Tenma Market. It had more of an Asian feel than a Japanese one. It was late, so many stores were closed, so I'd like to go earlier.
