難波から遠くなるにつれて普通の生活橋になっていく道頓堀。ごく普通の大阪市のよくある無表情な橋で、あみだ池筋となにわ筋の間に架かっています。名前が縁起いいので、湊町リバープレイスからこっちの方の橋も余裕があればきれいに整備して、お店造って盛り上げてほしいです。

道頓堀川の西エリアを川沿いに散策していて寄りました。何本も道頓堀川にかかっている橋の一つで、西道頓堀橋の西にあります。こちらは大きな通りが走ってないので静かです。よくある名称ですが、命名の理由は分からないそう。やはり特色はいまいちです。

大阪市は時代と共に埋め立て整備されましたが、この堀江付近は1700年頃に開発されたようです。幸橋は当時道頓堀川に架けられた四つの橋（住吉橋、幸橋、汐見橋、日吉橋）のひとつとされています。
道頓堀川沿岸は全国からの物資が船で運ばれ荷揚げ場として繁栄が今はその面影もなく普通の生活の場となっています。普通に車両が行き来する橋ですが歩行路もありますので安心です。

道頓堀川に架かる西区と浪速区を結ぶ道路橋の一つです。橋銘板で分かりましたが、実際の橋自体に何の変哲も無く生活道路の一端を担っていました。両側に歩道も設置されており安全に通行する事が可能となっていました。
