この歌人さん、東京帝国大学では当初文科（文学部）に所属し小泉八雲氏の指導を受けていたのに、師が退任すると法学科にすぐ転科、恋に苦しみ自殺未遂をしたり、その恋が原因か、急にあの住友さんの筆頭理事の地位をおりたり、激動の人生.. この石碑はその住友さんが昭和42年に、住友系18社で歌碑を建てたさいに、府立図書館に寄贈されたものだそうです。中之島図書館を目指せばたどり着けます。

中之島図書館の敷地内にありました。近くに"府立図書館五十周年記念 川田順氏 歌碑"と紹介された標識が立っていたので所在が分かりました。実際の歌碑は、地面に掘られた場所にあり真上から見下ろすと云った不思議な形状でした。

中之島図書館の正面入り口付近にありました。たえず水に浸されているユニークな歌碑です。

ちょっとそこまで、「川田順 歌碑」ヘ ！ 大阪中之島にある「中之島図書館」の右横に府立図書館５０周年記念として建てられました。近くに行ってよく見てみると歌碑の上に水が流れていて珍しい形をした歌碑です。歌碑が水波に揺れて優しさを感じます。写真を見てください鳩が歌碑の水を飲んでいます。良い写真が撮れました。

中之島図書館にきたついでに見てもいいと思うけど別に見たからと言って・・という感じのものです。地面に歌碑があるのが特徴的です。

中之島図書館の敷地内にあり、場所を示す案内標識もあるので見つけやすいです。興味のない人が見ても何とも思わず通り過ぎるようなものですが、お好きな方は近くへお越しの際に寄ってみてはいかがでしょうか。

中之島図書館の正面の右側にあります。踏み石がいくつかあってたどると水盤のようなものの中に歌碑がありました。こんな碑ははじめて見ました。水の音がしていました。横に説明文がありました。
川田順は東京生まれの詩人です。明治40年に来阪、長く住友に勤務していました。
歌は図書館開館を記念して献呈されたものだそうです。

中之島図書館は改修工事中だったので、この歌碑も見学できませんでした。
やっと改修工事が終わったので、ついでに立ち寄りました。
人工の湧水が出ているような趣向の四角い井戸の中に、歌碑がある面白いつくりになっています。
（難波津の まなかに植ゑし 知慧の木は 五十年を經て 大樹となりぬ）
この歌の作者川田順は東京帝国大学に学び、住友総理事の就任も予定されていたような人でした。
昭和29年に創立50周年を迎えたことを祝って寄せた歌です。

歌碑が水盤のようになっている面白い形状です。図書館正面の右側の植え込みの中にあります。説明板によると、歌は大阪府立図書館五十周年を記念して住友の重役を務めた歌人でもある川田氏が献呈したもの。もともとこの図書館も住友の寄付でできたものなので、歌碑も住友系１８社が寄付贈呈したものです。

川田順氏の歌碑は、中之島図書館（明治時代の建物、国重要文化財）の前にあります。府立図書館五十周年記念として造られた碑とのことです。地面に設置されています。川田順氏は、明治から昭和の歌人・実業家です。歴史、歌に興味がある方は訪れてはいかがでしょうか？
