Our group consisted of about 15 pax. We engaged Snow Monkey Resorts to transport us from karuizawa to Hakuba, Hakuba to Snow Monkey Park and Snow Monkey Park to Haneda Airport during February 2019.
I started emailing them about 7-8 months prior to our Japan trip and exchanged quite a few emails regarding prices/pax/pick up and drop off locations and dates and timings.
It was a big leap of faith as we had to pay in full the total amount which came up to a few thousand dollars (SGD) and I had never used them before or spoken to them over the phone.
Everything turned out fine. They were punctual and the bus and mini-bus were very comfortable and the driver drove safely. Although it wasn't cheap, it saved us a lot of hassle not having to switch between numerous trains and buses especially when we were such a big group. Highly recommended !!

We booked a day trip to the Snow Monkey Park for our family (kids age 3 and 5) our hotel in Nozawa Onsen. Our guide Peter was an excellent host. Since we did not have a car, he picked us up at our hotel in the morning and we rode ~45 minutes over to the monkey park. We spent a couple hours at the park.
Our 5 year old had no problem with the hike into the park and we carried our napping 3 year old. Both kids and grown-ups loved seeing the monkeys, it was well worth the trip.
After seeing the park, our guide took us to a great lunch at a nearby restaurant, and then dropped us at a train station for our return trip to Tokyo. I recommend the snow park as a great day trip for any families with kids, and having the full day tour with transportation made it really convenient.
Our 5 year old had no problem with the hike into the park and we carried our napping 3 year old. Both kids and grown-ups loved seeing the monkeys, it was well worth the trip.
After seeing the park, our guide took us to a great lunch at a nearby restaurant, and then dropped us at a train station for our return trip to Tokyo. We went Snowmobiling in Shoga Kogen in the morning , then to the Snow monkeys in the afternoon. The company organised everything very well . All the paperwork and preparation for the day was outlined clearly. From the time the booking was made ( online ) it was clear that every segment of the journey had been thought of . The guide was excellent , the van was comfortable . The snowmobile experience was very good . Having already had one in Finland I can say that this was equal if not better . Of course the snow monkeys were a delight, and we had enough time to do everything at leisure. I would have no hesitation in using them again .

We did a complete 4/day snowboarding and onsen experience in Nozawa Onsen Grand Hotel and it was marvellous, from the instructors I had =being a complete beginner to the after snowboarding/onsen experience. The village is a dream and everyone, local or not, are just the nicest heartfelt people. The agency was the best, resolved all of our doubts in no time and litterally held our hand when needed

Excellent and helpful communication with the company all the way through. Great website with all the information you would need from transport to accommodation. Easy meet up point. Sijung was an excellent guide. We visited temples, sake tasting and snow monkeys as promised. Excellent traditional japanese lunch- well catered for vegetarians. Snow monkeys were out in force and we were up close and personal. Be waned that there is a 1.6 km walk to the monkeys which is icy and snowy in winter and you do need to take crampons over your shoes or you can buy them there. Would thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful experience with Snow Monkey Resorts. They response to emails promptly and give good advice.
Peter, our guide for the day is very accommodating, patience and caring.

Snow Monkey were extremly helpful. This is the first time skiing in Japan and didn't know the different resorts or logistics. Snow Monkey took care of everything for us and all we had to do was bring gloves.
Our hotel, Sunny Shiga, was very well located and had about 100 meters to the ski lift.

Snow Monkey Resort’s customer service team returned our emails promptly. The hotel they recommended to us was excellent. Although it was more expensive, but that’s because we booked it too late.

Kevin was our guide and did an excellent job informing us without overloading us- it was just right.
The temple was really interesting and we really appreciated his respect of the sanctity and rituals.
Of course the monkeys are amazing and a great way to wrap up a really good experience.

David was a wonderful guide. We loved spending the day with him and getting to know him. He made our whole day run seamlessly, easy and fun. He taught us so much about the area, the monkeys, sake (really nihonshu:) and Zenko-Ji. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and everyone.

How did you book your private tour. My hubby and I would like to do one, ,either in the afternoon or the morning 30th Jan and am finding it difficult to work something out. As we have been to Japan before the one thing we want to see is the Snow monkeys, have done many castles and temples. Thank you. Shirley from New Zealand.

Hi Shirley, Snow Monkey Resorts offers a range of tours through Viator which combine different destinations and experiences with a vis to the monkey park. This does not include private tours at this time. Private tours are available but you'd need to contact the company directly. Good luck!

Sorry for late reply, I only just saw this message.
yes they are other Japanese tour companies that does this tour to Snow Monkey and I am sure you can book through them via some of the snow resorts there ie Hakuba. There is a bus that does that, however i think it only runs till end of March. Have a Google around and see if there's any other tour but you can catch the local bus or a private car or taxi and go to Jigokudani where the snow monkey park is. Hope it helps.

I don't think they will be in the water as much. I went in December and it was still a bit warm. They would go in the water briefly (which was great for pictures) but then would get out and run around the mountain side. I think they may try to feed them to entice them into the water or to at least come down to where the people are. Remember, they are wild animals though, they have a mind of their own. It's still a beautiful area and the ride to Yudanaka is incredible for the scenery.

There is five of us 2Adults and 3 teenagers (15,17 and 19yrs old).
