Sanada House, Bunbu Gakko Sanada, Treasure Museum, Old Samurai houses in a splendid little town surrounded by forest mountains. We will come back next time for the rest of the town that we did not visit, because of the menacing cloudy sky.

Historical town with various attractions to spend the whole day exploring on foot. Yes, on foot exploration is the best despite the distance. Take a bus from Nagano station (bus 30 for Matsushiro). It’s more worth to buy a day pass from Nagano bus station...More

From JR station take bus # 3. You can get all the info, maps and instructions from the tourist station in Nagano....and quite a bit of info at the tourist center at Matsushiro. I spent 4 hours here, lots of different sites to see. Highly...More
