Full-Day Tour of Snow Monkeys, Zenko-ji Temple and Sake in Nagano

192 reviews
This action-packed Nagano adventure has it all—a historic temple, a sake tasting, and snow monkeys. Avoid the hassle of figuring out local public transport schedules, and opt for a much more relaxed form of sightseeing—an organized tour with transfers between sights and entry tickets included. Visit the beautiful Zenko-ji temple, have a guided sake tasting, and go to the Snow Monkey Park to see monkeys bathing in hot springs.

This place was so much fun! The animals seemed so happy too. I think this zoo is a great place to start your sightseeing in the Nagano region. The monkeys are very friendly and not aggressive. I wonder what they feed them.

Don’t go. Don’t encourage the zoo to keep animals in deplorable conditions. They clearly have no love for Fuko the elephant they just want your cash. Unsure? Check out all the news on Fuko . Increadably wrong on so many levels. The treatment for Fuko alone should warrant this zoo being closed down.

Something has to be done about a very very sad and lonely bored elephant. Japanese seem so compassionate but still can't see how bad they treat some animals. Time to do something

If you like getting depressed while visiting a zoo, this is the place to go! Seeing Fuko and other animals in underwhelming "exhibits" was saddening. I learned about Fuko from several petitions going around these past few months, and decided to see for myself. This elephant displays signs of stereotypical behavior, which indicates her state of immense distress. It is clear this zoo is not interested in learning anything about what it requires to keep animals engaged, physically active, and with companionship. Fuko is basically left there to rot in misery and looks so very sad. This zoo should not be able to operate.

That elephant at this zoo has been alone in a cell for over 9 years. Just YouTube the condition that elephant is in and think twice about supporting zoos.
