Kyoto Tower is one of those attractions constructed solely for the purpose of tourism. This being said, if you get up to the top of it you can see a pretty good expansive view of Kyoto. But, its overall approach is a bit contrived. For...More

On the ground floor there are shops which sell the best of Kyoto pickles / chocolates etc. We bought a box of mochi which must be consumed on the same day. Unfortunate that we could not buy to share with friends at home.

We stayed at the Granvia Hotel and had a perfect view of the tower which is very colorful. The best find was the sushi restaurant in the basement where we dined twice and each time we had interesting conversations with those sitting next to us....More

Long opening hours and rainy evening caused us to visit Kyoto Tower. It was not a disapoointment - lovely city panorama. Friendly and efficient staff.

Kyoto tower isn't great but it's good value to go up and get a birds eye view of Kyoto. It's a little confusing to get in to as you have to go in to the hotel lift up to the 8th floor and then transfer...More

We went up the tower about 7.30pm on a weekday. There was no queue and it wasn’t crowded. It only costs around £5, well worth it! You get a lovely view of the city and there are lots of binoculars that are free to use....More

It is a nice view from the top but difficult to get up and down (needs more than one lift). The cost performance is not so good because we can go across the road to Kyoto station top for free.

The tallest building in Kyoto offers its visitors a terrific view over Kyoto area. From its windows you can see many temples, hills and all the most important (for tourists) places in this area

This tower is nothing special in our view, but if you want a grand view of the city, then it offers that.

Yes, Kyoto tower is just opposite Kyoto JR/Shikanshen station. Come out of the station and you will see the tower.
