What a wonderful experience. This hike was the highlight of our 3 days in Osaka. We certainly got away from the crowds by being escorted up a non tourist route through bamboo and shrines. It is so lovely to stand in an old natural bamboo forest with nobody else there. We joined the main circuit near the top. It is a decent hike not a stroll. You will need proper walking shoes ie. Joggers at a minimum for the ascent as you will be walking through forest and along the mountain trail. It can get a bit rocky and i wore hiking boots which i was thankful for but my friend used joggers and was fine. It is paved once you get to the top. You stop for tea and a boiled egg! There are a lot of stone steps at the top. I am not too fit (i am 48 and sit at a desk most days) and i managed it. I since read it is 4km and 10k steps and we started 2 train stops away and came up the back of the mountaind so i reckon it was at least 6km maybe more. We walked for a good 3 hours with a 20 min sit down stop and other rests when needed. Taka and Jeff slowed down when i needed to. They were lovely guides and we had a great conversation. It is an incredible shrine and temple area and you will be so happy you chose to do this walk away from the crowds. When you walk down the other side, again a non tourist route, you will end up at the famous orange tunnel of shrine gates. Highly recommended.

Ken was great, there were only 2 of us on the tour but we had a great time. Cycled to 3 destinations including the staggering Sanjusangendo Temple with 1001 gold statues.
Great lunch too. Would definitely recommend to see a different side of Kyoto.

Our tour guide Kaz was fantastic, he really held the group together, no one felt left out, and even though the topic was serious we felt we had bonded together and we were on a mission for peace. The tour consisted of stopping at many monuments, Kaz would explain what they were and there was also an explanation on the monument plaques in English. It also included included a quality lunch and drink and entry to the peace museum. It was a really touching, moving experience. Thanks Kaz for being our tour guide and also for taking heaps of photos which we will have as a memento. All the best Dee and Angus

We had done food tours (with different concessionaires) in other cities, so we had an expectation of what a Food Tour can offer. We were all kinda disappointed in our dinner/food tour of Kyoto. Our guide was nice and he worked hard to ensure we were happy, but he had difficulty ordering our food multiple times. None of the food we had at any of our stops was spectacular. My main complaint with this tour was that it was very heavily centered around alcohol. Food seemed to take a back seat to the booze. I tend to like it the other way around, but some people may like buzz they would get on this tour.

The guide was warm and enthusiastic about Kyoto life. Shared about the history of Kyoto and was able to answer good questions and recommended local cuisine / snacks to try. His English is easily understood and very considerate. He helped the other travel parties find the transport to get to their next program. Thank you Yutaka Yoshida-san!

My guide was very friendly and a great host, but the experience was not worth the price. The places we went can easily be explored by yourself. Overall, a poor value for money. Will not recommend unless you’re looking for a quick, easy and shallow experience in Akihabara.

I did the sumo wrestling tour with two of my friends. Kentake was an amazing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable - not only about sumo, but Japan's history and culture generally. I highly recommend to all to learn about sumo and its history. We are very grateful that the stable allowed us to have this inside look!

We really liked our guide Mooh, very nice and answered all questions. The food we ate was all good, only feedback was the spots weren’t that hidden, especially for the price. Other tours I’ve been on have been more localized, where you could never find those spots yourself or know what to order, but this was pretty easy and we could have done it ourselves. Overall, we had a great time, just not sure worth the price.

Highly recommend this tour! Yuuki was my tour guide and he was a fantastic tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Kyoto and answered all of my questions thoroughly about several topics including culture, cuisine, and recommendations around the city; and he speaks perfect English, which made things especially easy for a foreigner. We went to several restaurants that I would never have went to as a solo foreign traveler. The food and drinks were amazing and the people we enjoyed them with were even better. I highly recommend this tour and would absolutely do it again the next time I’m in Kyoto.
