The experience wonderfully allow me and my family to understand more about the Japanese culture. The instructor is a nice woman who explains to us the history, procedures, manners and so on of tea ceremony very clearly. It's definitely worth trying.

Superb experience, I would rate as 6 out 5 if I could.

If you want to experience a tea ceremony this is the place. Everyone is knowledgeable and passionate about matcha, and the ceremony really makes you appreciate it a whole new level.

Fantastic overall!

Perfect location, wonderful experience. I got to have a solo experience ( one in one) with lovely lady/owner who speaks perfect English. She is very personable and kind. She answered all my questions with a cute smile on her face. She recorded me while doing the ceremony. It’s a perfect 1 hour experience.

We liked the tea ceremony and the people were very nice, but (being experienced travellers) it was not a highlight of our Japan trip. We did the private ceremony and afterwards we found it (too) expensive for what it was. We did not regret doing it and would do it again if we could go back in time.

Brilliant experience in Kyoto - we loved it and our guide was fantastic. Everything was explained in English and demonstration was brilliant, on a busy street but feels like you're a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. A must do in Kyoto!

We really enjoyed the tea ceremony.

Our host was absolutely wonderful. Like all the Japanese people we met she was respectful, helpful and graceful. She really showed that she had a deep love of tea - it's history and traditions - and that made the ceremony stand out as different. Since our host cared so much we were able to invest more and get more from the experience - we wanted to learn how to do it properly and not mess it up so as to show the some respect.

She gave us lovely sweets and a little present at the end which was very cute. The setting was lovely too. The little shop downstairs was lovely too!

We would definitely recommend doing it.

What a delightful lady, dedicated to the traditions of the tea ceremony. The explanation was excellent, we were well informed of the process and the history behind the tea ceremony. Well worth the effort to find the shop, really lovely people. Highly recommend a visit.

I brought my friends from the U.S. here to experience Sadō tea culture. It was a great experience for them and they really enjoyed making their own tea with the tea instructor. The tea instructor gave us a really nice experience and she provided us with deep cultural history about Sadō. I would recommend coming here if you really want to experience a rich and deep tea ceremony experience.

Went here with my mom and were very happy that we stumbled across this place. Our host was very friendly and demonstrated really well the beauty of the Japanese tea ceremony. Tea was also very delicious. They even let you choose which bowl you get to use to make your tea 😁10/10 would recommend it to my friends and family visiting Kyoto ❤
