Glad it’s there for the view of the beautiful area. As far as a tower goes it’s very skinny and not very tall. Glad I went once for sure, but once is enough. Some cool interactive things inside kids would enjoy but only 1 or 2 which is kinda weak.

Worth visiting, on day trips from Osaka or Hiroshima.. U can visit the Port first or do the visit after visiting the Kobe Motomachi shopping street (sheltered) and Chinatown. Nearby Starbucks and also the ferries wheel

The Port of Kobe is a maritime port in Kobe, Hyōgo in the greater Osaka area, backgrounded by the Hanshin Industrial Region.
It’s one of the five biggest International trading ports in Japan and was built over one hundred years ago.
The views of nightlight is astonishingly beautiful, especially the Kobe tower, which is the most famous landmark in Kobe.
It is a great place for dating since there were also shopping malls, cafe and restaurants...etc around the port.

The best time to see the port tower would be at night when it is illuminated bright red. It makes for a lovely backdrop. The surrounding area is great the explore as well.

Getting there from Sannomiya was a bit difficult as there's no clear English sign where to transfer to Hanshin line. And using Google for land navigation was as useless as usual.
Once you board the Hanshin line and stop at the Motomachi station, there's a 1KM walk down to the port under a bright sun! I think it's better to use taxi instead of riding an mrt liner.
The tower was quite deserted. Very view visitors on weekdays. There's a fee to get up there. And while the view was beautiful, the space was cramped.
The view to the harbour was really good, however the glass walls were dirty so it won't be clear enough to take pictures.
However Kobe Port Tower still worth to check out if you have some spare time!

It's elegantly located on the waterfront, in Kobe Harbourland. Great spot to view Kobe both day and night, with shopping centers, parks, and restaurants nearby. Easily accessible by buses.

One of the highest peak in Kobe where you can see the stunning view of Kobe port and the mountainous part of Kobe.
We enjoy our sumptuous cheese cake at the rotating restaurant. The rotation is bit slow compared to the other rotating tower/restaurant I have visited.

Kobe tower was once a back drop to the early Bond films. Located on the water front, Kobe tower is an icon of this city. Painted in red, it is a distinctive structure. Although not very tall by modern standards, Kobe towr offers a 360 degree view of the city of Kobe, its mountain backdrop and the harbour. Make sure to buy the combined Tower, Maritime Museum and Kawasaki World entry tickets.

After travelling to Mt Rokko Cablecar then walking to the Earthquake memorial and then walking around the Maritime museum and Kawasaki museum we took the short walk to the Port Tower and up to the viewing platforms. We walked around the tower looking at the 360 degree view of Kobe. Then decided to take a rest somewhere and have a drink. To my husband's delight the Port Tower has a revolving restaurant, he commented that he had never been in a revolving restaurant before so I suggested we have a drink here. What a lovely idea this was. My husband was able to enjoy a beer with some snacks, I had a glass of wine and our daughter a hot chocolate with cake set. The setting was lovely as we relaxed and took in all the views. Here we took some photos of the view of Kobe on my husband's mobile phone and sent to our friend back in Australia who was born in Kobe, with the message "Guess where we are at the moment?" We stayed at this restaurant until the sun was just setting then walked onto Harborland just as the lights were coming on. I am visiting Kobe again in a few months and will definiately take my friends here for the relaxing view.
