It's not very close to town, and access is tricky by public transport. It's a little zoo, with most of the wild kingdom's greatest hits, but there's nothing that makes this zoo a must see. Boring for zoo lovers and not worth the hassle for those who don't love zoos.

I went with an open mind, I mean they have to have standards, right? No. I was depressing and sad. The black bears might as well have been banging their heads against the wall and the poor tiger looked catatonic. You must be satisfied with this Zoo & Park in Hiroshima. You enjoy see varied animals and walking in the forest. It's not easy to reach here, take a bus from Kamiya-cho,bus station.

Although the zoo is a bit far out, if you have spare time and children, it really is worth a visit. It won't blow you away, but it is a very pleasant space, set in the mountains with plenty of greenery and trails to explore. The animal enclosures were mostly good, though some were small and dated.
