Go to the 6th floor of the dining & entertainment building, across from the postoffice next to the south gate of the station. Here you will find a great number of Okonomiyaki stalls. We took the first one, starting left. Delicious oko, prepared right before your nose. Just go for it.

Its like a fiod court and the whole six floor were filled with around 20 omiyaku shops, some interviewed by local tv program will be packed with customers. But some were quite empty. When u walked one round, its hard for you to decide which one to be seated, finally I chose the first shop right come out from the lift, since the chef was very funny and talkative, he say welcome home really change my attention, the foid they serve did not let us down, its very yummy and the chef also explain to me the difference between hiroshima n osaka omiyaki.

The top floor of this building has an okonomiyaki "theme park," basically a food court style area with lots of stands selling okonomiyaki. Each restaurant has a wrap-around grill area where they cook and serve the okonomiyaki. We chose the first restaurant we came to with open seats available, and it was quick and delicious.

Three years ago we went to Okonomimura (which I reviewed),an impossibility this year due to our late arrival and travel agenda.
After researching okonomyaki locations near the Sheraton and train station, I settled on a building with a number of okonomyaki restaurants on the sixth floor, an "8 minute walk" from the Sheraton (per Google Maps), open untill 11 PM.
It was satisfying but the "Wow" experience we had three years ago was absent. Of course, you are selecting from many possibilities on the same floor, strolling by and feeling compelled to make a rapid snap decision when the hour is late. The primary selection criterion in our case was the number of customers observed. Interestingly, our restaurant still had customers after others had closed or were in the process of closing. Many of our adjacent dining companions seemed to know each other and the manager/chef as there was extensive banter among them.
It's always fun to watch the preparation process in front of you and regardless of the degree of satisfaction, it's a dish I've yet to encounter in the USA. We also have had it in Kyoto, Okayama as well as in Hiroshima. The two we had here were on the crisp, slightly burnt side.
I would still recommend going, hopefully with more time to amber through and peruse the many okonomiyaki shops/restaurants before choosing. You might well pick one that will merit a "5."
If our travel plans permitted and we were near Okinomimura, I certainly would have preferred returning there.
