The ropeway is a bit expensive for the length of the ride, but in winter it is really the only way to go up the mountain. We were crammed in, and were fortunately near the outside so we could see outside. I don't think the people in the middle could see anything. You first go in one large car, then into two smaller ones that are joined. The last ones in the first car become the first ones into the next. In scheduling time, you want to give plenty of time for spending at the top.

Easy to access the ropeway (via train and free shuttle), and even the run going to the top was fun. Though it was really cold at the top, so be sure to bundle-up!

Short ride up Mt Moiwa, but the view is really amazing. We went during autumn, so we get to see very nice autumn colours while on the ropeway up Mt Moiwa.

There is shuttle bus provided to go up. And its easy place to go by walking as well. There is not much activity up beside enjoying the view and taking photo

There are two sections to the rope way, as others have mentioned. If you are interested in this experience billy a ticket to both. There’s no reason to take only the first. It is well organised though you should be prepared for 10 minute waits. The views in the autumn are gorgeous. Not for teenagers, maybe, but kids should live the ride.
