The ropeway takes you fast to the top of Mount Moiwa. A breath taking view over the city of Saporro, especially when it gets dark and the lights begin to sparkle! In the observatory one can watch a documentaire about the galaxy and stars.
I went here during winter season. It was extremely cold. I wish they had a room just near the bell where you could warm yourself during winter. The view is breathtaking! I’d recommend this place for a date. The night view is the best for...More
A very beautiful place. Affordable admission fee. A spectacular view once you've reached the top. Make some time to visit this place if you're in sapporo. Very friendly staff, they assisted us when we needed help with getting back to the train stations. Even provided...More
A good place to see the overview of Sapporo. We visited on Christmas Day - 25 Dec - and went up as the first group when it opened at 11 am (opening time in the winter). Clear sky with good visibility of 20+km. Can clearly...More
Went up Mt Moiwa the day after it snowed in Sapporo. If you want to see the surrounding of Sapporo, this is the place to go. Recommended to go right before sunset. The night view is also amazing here. Expect a crowd coming for the...More
Everyone goes for the view at the top at night, which is great, lots of lights in the big city. Think for a second what it must have been like just after the earthquake when power was off. they recovered amazingly quickly.
Mt Moiwa is 530 metres (1740 feet) tall, making it one of the tallest mountains in the Sapporo region. The cable car is really the only option, it would be an awfully long way to climb. Lovers can ring the famous bell at the summit...More
It was still wintertime in Sapporo so it was really cold up in Mt Moiwa when we visited. The famous Bell of Happiness, I must honestly say, is overrated. The view from the top, however, is phenomenal. There aren't a variety of food shops up...More
A convenient and fast way to get to the top of Mount Moiwa (honestly, walking up would be arduous and needs proper prep). The visibility wasn’t very good the day we visited, so we actually couldn’t see much of the city, but I imagine it’d...More

As answered by someone, it should be open by that time. Just try to bring extra insulation as Sapporo is really cold especially at the top of the ropeway. We got there through their tram/streetcar. You can go clockwise or counterclockwise to ropeway iriguchi station and wait for the free shuttle that will take you to moiwa. I advise you to take the shuttle since walking would be an uphill battle. Shuttle arrives every 30 minutes
