It was a petite aquarium. We brought our 3 toddlers and a baby here since it was rainy day. Although the tour was very short, about 2 hours; but our kids enjoyed looking at the big octopus, the little fish that wiggle to their fingers, and many other more.

Two sea lions circulate in a tiny, empty tank. Back and forth all day. Two river otters are also in a very small space with only a tube of water. You can tell the animals are very stressed and depressed. The whole aquarium should be shut down. Many of the fish tanks are too small. After my husband and I sat on the steps so sad for the animals and fish.

I don't usually like places like this, but the zoo was closed and the parks are just full of snow, I decided to visit the aquarium. Well, surprisingly, we ended spending half a day there and going again a couple days later. My 3-yo daughter loved it. They have really interesting fish, and yeah, the tanks are pretty small, but for a 3-year-old they are actually very convenient, not overwhelming and with everything just close enough to take a good long look. So she was hypnotized by this place. Downstairs they have tanks where you can touch the fish, play with it, take a starfish out of the water (and put it back in of course). In terms of learning, sensory and emotional experience, this place is wonderful for a toddler. I was upset to see the penguin and the seal tanks pretty small, otherwise this would have been a 5-star experience, but I'm still thankful to this place for being a great experience for my kid. They had little show with fish that swims through colored rings and makes a lamp light up in the tank. They also let you buy fish food and feed the fish in designated tanks. That was another 30 minutes of our visit. The penguins are really fun and cute and curious, we observed/entertained them for almost an hour. And we visited this place again because my daughter kept asking to go back. I felt like the people in the place really care for the animals, I only wish they had a bit more space for them, but it's Japan, there some space shortage going on in the country.
