Great price, amazing staff!
Feb 2020
Snow was beautiful, very good price, can't recommend enough!
Had a skiing incident which resulted in a hospital trip. Staff were absolutely amazing and helped to translate all of our conversation to Japanese.
I will be returning here in the coming years!

From Sapporo Station, take the JR bus to Teine Ski Resort which is free if you have purchased JR Pass. it took less than an hour, was really good and beautiful ski spot for beginners.

Perfect snow day trip
Feb 2020
Actually not even a day trip, from Sapporo station you get there in less than an hr. There are several ways and times you can go to the resort during the day. Went there a few times 2019/.20 season.
The night pass is for the lower side of the mountain, so its not as fun as the morning. but great for beginners!
one of the cheapest lift tickets around sapporo, and snow on the highland side is pretty good!

First time to ski
Feb 2020
It's easy to go to Teine from Sapporo station by JR pass and all free. We booked 1 day lesson and haven't regret for the decision. The class was so much fun, as I never skied before, my instructor show me how to ski with carefully and attentive. Highly recommend!

Never-Skied-Before!
Feb 2020 • Family
TEINE OLYMPIA SKI SCHOOL. Perfect place for someone who has never skied before! We started at 10am and left after sunset. Complete gear rental, and progressive lessons. We learned about the parts of the gear and how to use them; we moved to gentle slopes and how to control our skis. Later we transferred to a bunny slope with a “ski walkalator” for more practice. Eventually we rode a gondola that took us much higher, to a long scenic beginners’ route! Our English speaking Instructress Wakana, is wonderful! She was so patient with us. I moved ahead to stay with my teenager sons, only because I felt confident leaving my slightly unsteady wife in Wakana’s safe hands. It was a wonderful comprehensive and fun First Time Ever!
TIP: after the lessons, since we already had our ski gear, we continued skiing until sunset, paying only for the lifts 👍🏻

Icy Conditions & Grass
Dec 2019 • Family
We were at Teine on Dec 26. Ski season opens Nov 22; so we thought snow conditions should be very good. I guess it wasn’t a good year for snow. We saw grass. And there were many icy patches. The conditions were disappointing but sometimes Mother Nature doesn’t feel like cooperating.
We skied at Teine Olympia and not the Highland. The runs are long but much too flat. Be prepared to push through those flat areas. It’s almost like cross-country skiing. Quite a work-out. There were lots of little kids taking group lessons; so if you’re a beginner, it’s a good place to be.
The queue to pay and collect the equipment was disorganized. A women fitting the boots and skis couldn't converse well in English and called for help. The majority of the ski boots were rear-entry boots. I’m not a fan. I asked for front-entry boots. Got them. Told her, it was too big. She refused to give me another pair. All out. For safety, boots need to fit well. There’s lack of care for the customer sadly.
The hills and lifts are quite spread out. So coming down some slopes will require long walks to transfer to different lifts or long walks to the canteen for lunch.
Lockers are expensive y600, y400. Place your boots on the shelf like others.
From Sapporo station, it was an easy train ride to Teine station plus one bus ride. Just about an hour.

First Time Skiing
Feb 2019 • Family
A great introduction to skiing and snow sledding for the kids! My two grandchildren aged 4 and 9 and my grown son of 27 with elder brother aged 40 enjoyed themselves immensely. Only my 40 year old is experienced in skiing in the US and he was able to give his brother, his 4 year old son, and niece lessons that made them enjoy the sport, wanting for more. We returned the next day for more skiing. First day was in the Dinosaur beginner course and the next day was in the higher slope.

really good for beginner
Feb 2019
the beginner courses are long and flat (olympic area with one 1.7km but sorry i forgot the name) which give a great chances to practice. there are several courses that suitable for beginner but still advice to hire a coach if you are lack of experience

Feb 2019 • Couples
visiting the Ice Festival, we wanted to get in a day of skiing as well. It takes about 15 minutes by train and another 15 by bus to get to Teine. They have a reasonable number of runs for all skill levels.
Olympia seemed clogged by a ton of ski school participants, so we went up to Highlands; I enjoyed the short green runs, although they were challenging enough for me. The more advanced runs were a bit icy and the cold wind was not fun anywhere.
They have a transportation / lift ticket package, but it looks like it picks up / drops off only once a day from several hotels By taking the train/bus ourselves, we got an extra hour of sleep but still had plenty of time to ski. As for the bus, on weekdays, it too is not convenient, returning every other hour in the evening to the train station. Be aware that not everyone may fit on the bus, so you'd best get there early and queue up, otherwise it's a two hour wait for the next one ! (bus is 370yen; taxi is about $25 but I don't think you can cram in 6 people !) I'm not sure if the shortage of transport is common or just due to the timing of Chinese New Year and the Ice Festival.
Staff for rental equipment was helpful with the conversions of sizes and weight; equipment is pretty standard. They have several packages, so I'd suggest checking out their website in advance. It is well organized with the information you might need.
There is a cafeteria with several kinds of foods and pretty reasonably priced.
Decent location, decent runs, reasonably priced.

Hi, im planning to go Sapporo Teine early March 2020 and i would like to spend the whole day there. However i have doubts about the wear rental.
1. Does it compulsory to rent all the equipment such as beanie, gloves, cloth and goggle if I have none?
2. If I have all the equipment and i bring it from home, is there any additional charges that I need to pay?
Looking forward for your response . Thanks :)

If you don't have the ware, you need to rent it. If you have a set of wear, you don't need to rent or pay extra.
You can also rent the gloves and goggle alone.

Hello! We are going to Sapporo this month end of January 2020. Do we need to have a reservation at Sapporo Teine or can we just go as walk-in? Thank you!

you can`t waik-in .Public buses run from Teine Station. No reservation is required for use of the ski slopes.

I will go to Teine ski resort next month. I have checked the equipment rental on web. But I found that I just could book for one day. Therefore I want to ask could I make a rental reservation for 2 or 3 days directly then I needn’t return the board and rent it again everyday?
Hello, I'm planning to go to Sapporo Teine on Feb 2020. I have a few questions here :)
1) What's the difference between Olympia Zone & Highland Zone? Which one is recommended for beginner (adult)
2) If let say I rent ski equipments at Highland Zone, can I return the equipments at Olympia zone?
サッポロテイネスキー場
Sapporo, Japan1 contribution
We recommended Olympia-zone for beginners.
Because there are many easy courses. I guess the Highland Zone can be enjoyed by those who are more than intermediate skier. But, please note that the opening period is different.
You should make return the rental gear to the pickup shop.

Which skiing place recommend for first time skiing on that time?
Kokusai or teine?
With other snow activities except skiing.

Ski lift/carpet
Is there a ski lift/magic carpet in the beginner's area?
What sort of ski lift pass is utilised? Manual printed pass or IC card? If IC card, would it work just by leaving card in my left jacket pocket? Thinking of just travelling with one jacket instead of bringing along a ski-specific jacket.
