Nice people, nice runs

This was a very nice ski area. The people were tremendously helpful. The runs were much longer than we have seen in Northern Honshu. The snow was great & I loved the options... read more

My wife and I are just back from a weeks winter break in Sapporo. As part of the trip we had 3 days at Kokusai learning to snowboard. The park is a fair distance from Sapporo city center and it can take a while to get there, especially in heavy snow. Busses are frequent in the peak season and leave... More

We went there with my entire family and it was really freezing, but the beautiful place really made up for all the effort we exerted on this trip. Here's our first hand experience: 1. We bought ticket at the bus station (Station 15) from the JR station. There is no advance booking, you have to buy your tickets on the... More

This place are very far, so we need to get up at least 8 o’clock. Because the bus go to the ski facility is till to 10 o’clock. I think the bus is not enough, because I miss most of the bus since full people in the bus. Fortunately, they say we could get in the bus though there were... More

I was almost giving up skiing in April when I heard about this place. As I was a first timer, I opted to book a private lesson one day before. At this time, there is only one bus running from Sapporo to the resort. It departs 8:00 from JR station and return 15:30. So be sure to not lose it.... More

Located slightly over 1 hour from downtown Sapporo, Kokusai must be one of the least patronised ski resorts (by tourists) in Hokkaido. Run by the municipality of Sapporo, this is a well known resort for the residents of the city. Access by car couldn't be easier as most rented cars have GPS installed. Should one prefer to use public transportation,... More

The location is accessible especially if you stay at keio plaza hotel or near Sapporo JR station. Given there's no resort at the location you can stay in town and travel around Sapporo. If you don't intend to ski or snow board for your entire trip. Once we got there, headed to the ski academy, and reserved a private lesson... More

This was a very nice ski area. The people were tremendously helpful. The runs were much longer than we have seen in Northern Honshu. The snow was great & I loved the options for lunch. Do not plan on renting skis if it is a weekend or Japanese holiday. The rental area was understaffed and crazy. My friend did not... More

More snow and powder than Niseko, with much less people. Small resort with long, wide green runs, perfect for beginners, especially snowboarders. Even the red runs are nice and wide. Not much for advanced skiers/boarders, as there is only one black run that is more red than black. One gondola that takes you from the base straight to the top.... More

Very good ski place with powder snow and wonderful scene. It was my first ski and the beginner course is just suitable for me. So lucky to meet a very good instructor teaching me the basic skill, giving me courage, observing what i do wrong and advising me for improvement. What an enjoyable day Thank you Reiko~

With a guided tour, we only spent hald a day there and an instructor was provided to our group. As it was in early April, the ski season was near the end and the snow was a bit icy. The resort is small with one ski lift and one cable car. The instructors were good and friendly. As we had... More
