Very nice View
Aug 2019
Sadly, I was there at a time where the lavender was not growing.
They have a very nice shop with various goods made of lavender.
There is also a very good "Mutton" restaurant, if you are into that type of meat.

Nothing special
Apr 2019 • Couples
This is a small park dedicated to Dr Clark. There is a statue of him and locals like to be taken a photo in front of the statue. There is a restaurant, a small museum of the Sapporo snow festival, and a few sheep ( five or six) on a grass field. The view is okay but not really very attractive. I do not understand why this is taken as a tourist attraction with an admission fee. It is at best a picnic area. I won’t say it is terrible but I would not recommend it.

A nice view of Sapporo from a hill dedicated to Dr. Clark and a good Genghis Khan Restaurant!!
Jul 2018 • Solo
You can enjoy a nice view of Sapporo from this hill dedicated to famous Dr. William C. Clark. Also, there are a foot bath, a small museum of snow festival, a small lavender field, some sheeps, a restaurant and a cafeteria. Nothing is special but can be worth a visit for an hour or two. You can enjoy a nice Genghis Khan in the restaurant. Take the Subway Toho line to its Fukuzumi Terminal and transfer to the bus No. 84 to the Hitsujigaoka Hill.

A hill dedicated to Dr Clark.
Jul 2018 • Family
Dr Clark's theme park features a nice view over the city, a foot bath, a small museum of the snow festival, a small lavender field, some sheep, a restaurant and a cafeteria. Nothing special really but can be worth a visit for an hour or two.

It's accessible using public transport. Take the subway, Togo line to Fukuzumi and then transfer to the bus no 84 that will take you all the way to the hill (last stop). It stops conveniently just outside the ticket booth.

Beautiful farm land

This was the second stop on our tour of Sapporo. The history and views were amazing. Stopped in the snow festival museum that showed models of all of the previous festivals. Pretty amazing what can be done with snow!

Just a bit of fun outside ...
Feb 2018 • Couples
At first, I was a bit surprised by having to pay the entrance fee (520 yen each) ... thinking it was just a lookout. However, being winter there were lots of small activities available for free. You could build a snowman or snow-woman ... try cross-country skiing (not as easy as the pro's make it look - no gold medal for me) as well as sliding down the hill on a big rubber tube (totally nuts) - highly addictive, and of course posing with Dr. Clark, too ... a funny professional cameraman will also take your photo for you with your camera - and he knows exactly how to make you pose. It's definitely a great place to venture to, if the weather is great and you like having a bit of fun in the snow.
The sheep looked lovely and warm in their shed, as well ...

Amazing view!

Visited during winter and hence the sheep were not out. But no worries! Simply follow the instructions on the map to look for the sheep that are all housed within a small wood house, though during winter, the road is a little slippery and there are no clear directions/signs.

Boys, Be Ambitious
Nov 2017 • Friends
I visited with my wife and two local folks and I really struggled to understand the significance of Dr. Clark and his famous quote (“Boys, Be Ambitious”). Still, we went to the statue, saw people posing for pictures with arms outstretched, and counted the sheep in the field before retreating to the gift shop to escape the brisk breeze on a chilly day. The view of the city in the distance was also nice but, all-in-all, this attraction struck me as less interesting to me as a foreigner than it was to the Japanese visitors. Still, I enjoyed the visit.
