Mount Okura is the sight of the Sapporo 1972 Winter Olympic Ski Jump Venue. Everything in the stadium reminds of the the winter Olympic. The escalator going to the sight is stell reinforced and so sturdy. You then go up the ski jump area via a sli lift, which for someone used to the tropics is an experience. Up there... More

Visit the home of the 1972 Ski jump stadium and get the best view of the skyline of Sapporo. A beautiful city in a beautiful area of Japan. Worth the 500 yen to take the lift to the top.

Olympic ski jump, used during winter Olympics. It's situated on a hill. There is a lift to go to the top of the jump, or you can walk about 15 minutes up. I recommend walking, as the lift costs money. The way up is clear, has wooden stairs. Watch out for occasional snakes on the way. The top of the... More

I thought the visit would be boring, but again, well organised Japanese surprised us. The cable cart ride and the observatory deck visit was fun. All facilities were clean nd neat. Although no one speaks English, but all signage are in both Japanese and English.

Experience the ski cable car where your leg will be hanging in the air. A bit scary when the cable car stop on the half way. Main activity is to go to the top using cable and enjoy the view. It just allow each person about 10-15min to enjoy the view. Good experience to know that how ski stadium look... More

We took the chair lift up to the observatory which cost ¥500 return. Very nice view of Sapporo once you reach the top. We came here end October 2016. A stall is selling Hokkaido ice cream at ¥350 per cone. Nice melon flavor

Great view of the city on a clear and sunny day. We were given an added bonus to watch the training session of the skiers on the high slope.

If you haven't visited a ski jump facility, give this place a visit and you'll appreciate just how brave these skiers are. Its spectacular viewing from both the bottom and top and there's a chair lift to take you up to the top. The accompanying museum was closed when we were there so I can't comment on whether its worth... More
