Being the site of an old Olympic venue was cool enough, but the views of the surrounding area were spectacular. Being the final place visited on our trip it was amazing to get an overview of all the places we had been in Sapporo. Definitely worth a visit.

Went there during hot August month. Enjoyed the ride up for a beautiful scenic view. The melon ice-cream (in season) was very tasty. I won't say this is a must go, but if you're around the area (like the maruyama zoo) it's worth the trip.

If you like history and a good overview, then it's for you. If you have weak knees and does not like climbing up/ down stairs, then please do not attempt...just stay close to the shops...the latest product I've seen is some cakes in a shinkansen gift box.

Would highly recommend this visit for just the view alone. We got a discount ticket for the Winter Sports Museum for 900yen because we rode the bus from the train station up. The coupon is located on the bus. Seniors get a discount but the coupon was cheaper.

Gorgeous view and a short bus ride from the subway station. The fee for the lift was 500 yen, which was ok. There is a nice and unique souvenir shop and a restaurant! Great view over Sapporo.

The view of Sapporo here is spectacular, and we were lucky enough to catch someone practising ski jumping (on wet grass). It ends at 6pm during summer, so plan well.

This was totally worth a visit. The views are stunning, and it's fun to go up the chair lift. The museum is really worthwhile...there are a lot of fun, interactive exhibits so that you can participate in Winter Sports. The guides are super helpful in showing you how to do the games...even my 84 yr old mother participated and enjoyed... More

We were on a cruise with a stop in Otaru. We traveled by bus from Otaru, Japan to visit Sapporo. In hind sight we should have done so from Muroran, Japan as there isn't much to see in Muroran. Otaru has beautiful canals, picturesque parks, etc. But that is another topic. I highly recommend a to visit Sapporo, and in... More

When we visit yesterday, it was rainy and really foggy. Therefore NOT much to see from the observatory. But, we enjoy the quietness and relaxing feeling up here while sipping our cafe au lait. The ride up with chairlift also fun. There is also a hiking track and I saw a group of students walk there. The slope up to... More
