An amazing trip, the whole adventure is brilliantly organised and a true opportunity to switch off. The lodge at Kiroro is beautifully finished with every last detail thought through. It’s impeccably clean, comfortable and the slow cooked porridge (oat not frog) is delicious *other breakfast options available. The skiing in the area (or course) is second to none and Silas and Neil make sure they seek out the best spots for you everyday. The guiding is super and everyone is catered and cared for. Would definitely make a return trip and do it all again - highly recommended.

I had only ever skiied a week in my life before coming to japan. I don’t know what I would’ve done had i not been with Skilas Japan. The areas we were taken to were amazing and the guides and other people on the tour were so welcoming and friendly. The tour catered for every skill level and there were different guides available to take you on different slopes based off your ability. Overall i had an amazing time and would 100% recommend to anyone visiting japan for skiing.

An amazing holiday, Silas and his team guided us round the mountains finding fresh track powder skiing throughout our trip, We stayed in both Sapporo (3 nights) and also at the Lodge at Kiroro (6 nights). Both offered opportunities to explore different culinary and cultural aspects of what Hokkaido has to offer. Highly recommended and we hope to return next year.

Have been to Japan twice now with Skilas and will go again many more times. The guy who runs this company is welcoming, friendly, inclusive professional and also funny. Not to mention he's obsessed with what he does for a living. His passion for waist deep power will definitely be contagious. Very highly recommended.

It’s every snowboarder’s dream to experience Japan’s legendary powder. Yet knowing nothing about any of the resorts, accommodation, the language or the skiing culture can make it a very daunting trip to plan, especially for first-timers. That’s where Skilas comes in! You basically just need to book your flights and that’s it, Skilas takes care of the rest: hotels, airport/hotel/resort pick-ups and drop-offs, gear rental suggestions, places to eat and, of course, visits to the amazing Japanese onsens!
Before starting your trip, Skilas sends out a detailed itinerary of all the resorts you’ll visit during your stay. However, he’ll also be checking the weather conditions on a daily basis to make sure he takes you to the snowiest slopes of the day. He knows all the resorts very well and can give you tips if you prefer to do your own thing. He also knows all the great places to visit around Sapporo for some après-ski and shopping.
All in all Silas was a super friendly tour guide and really funny to be around, plus he’s the most enthusiastic skier I’ve ever met - I think he skis literally every single day of the season!
I highly recommend you book a trip with Skilas to make the most of your trip to JaPow… you won’t regret it!

Skilas really did provide the best of all worlds. Reservation at comfy and well-appointed hotels, pick up every morning in the Skilas van, door to door to a different resort every day based on the inside scoop of where conditions would be best, different levels of skiers and snowboarder and everyone was able to join in, piste and off piste, gnarly and groomers. The freedom to do your own thing if you wanted, but the invitation to meet up for lunch or make plans to do something some evenings. Each day was fun and flexible with our van groups deciding together if we might stop off at onsen on the way home. Silas had plenty of advice and knew all the great runs as well as places to eat and dishes to order. I was a solo traveler and I made friends with other solo travelers. In my group there was also a couple, a family, and a father and son. All ages. Would really recommend. I had previously done a trip to Myoko Kogan with friends and the time that was wasted trying to figure it all out, plus the dud days we spent at one resort not knowing conditions would have been better elsewhere... Skilas's expertise did save time and money in the end, and the convenience was priceless. When you factor in the time off work and the flights to Japan, it's just not worth wasting time. Silas is a great guy, fantastic host, and the value for money is genuinely good, he didn't inflate prices and went out of his way to please. As for the area, Sapporo rocks! I much preferred Sapporo to Tokyo, and the snow quality and variety of the terrain at the resort Skilas took us to was excellent.

Silas and his team of mountain guides knows the mountains like nobody. We had an amazing time with him for the last 4 days. He knows the edges, the back of the mountains and when to stay above the line. He is fun, and professional.

Having never been to Japan before and travelling by myself I was seeking to join a group of intermediate to advanced skiers and/or boarders to visit the mecca of big powder. I was soo glad I stumbled across his tours, he was super flexible with dates and provided me with plenty of information about Japan's culture and the resorts well before I arrived.
All the difficult organising was taken care of by Skilas, didn't have to deal with any language problems, everything just worked seamlessly from day one to the last day. Both on and off the piste he catered for all the client's needs in a professional, friendly and fun manner. Most of all he guided and encouraged us on the slopes which clearly is his number one passion (especially the back country). He helped everyone relearn how to ski or board in BIG powder which is very different to the piste.
An epic trip that I'll never forget :-)

Skiing in Japan really does offer unbelievable quality powder skiing, like nowhere else in the world. And being so well looked after by Skilas makes the whole holiday so easy - being picked up every morning by minibus and taken to the best 'stash' - different depending on the day's conditions - means you don't even have to think about where to go, best restaurants on and off mountain, best ski hire shops, best routes etc..etc... - Skilas takes care of it all :) His knowledge of all the resorts and mountains together with excellent hospitality make for an unforgettable experience - book quick, you will have the trip of a lifetime!!!

Our group had a fantastic trip. The snow conditions lived up to our expectations and guiding to the best runs along with the secret trails made the trip even more special. There would be no-way to just show up at the resorts and experience the same terrain and runs. Going back for the 2024 season and most likely will be an annual event.
