This was a great animal cafe experience that we stumbled upon by chance while exploring Sapporo. There is interesting array of animals to interact with and feed and the staff were lovely and very accommodating as well.

We didnt know the space is so small. It is definitely not conducive for the animals. We feel so sorry for them.

Easy to spot animal cafe just upstairs an arcade in Tanuki Koji. Entrance fee is 1000 yen for 30 mins was quite expensive. However there were a lot of birds and other animals inside. The condition of the place for the animals were quite bad. Many of them trapped in a small place. However the staff was nice. You can feed and hold the animals! Some of the parrots are very interactive.

We had gone to other animal cafes in Japan where the animals were well cared for, but this is not one of them. The animals were kept in small cages and the visitors were free to manhandle them without gloves. For example hedgehogs, in another cafe the handler would give us gloves and teach us how to hold the hedgehog with care but this one just grab and put the poor animal on you. We were not given gloves so the kid was poked on her fingers. Not the hedgehog’s fault but still could be more careful. The snakes and lizards were kept in really tiny plastic boxes. All the animals have price tags on their cages presumably for sale.
What was most distressing was the two meerkats which were kept in cages obviously way too small for them and they were frantically “dashing” (too small to run) from one end of the cage to another. It was sad to see. We left soon and would not recommend this place.

My daughter is an animal lover. She enjoyed spending time with those animals, but worry about their living condition on the other hand. Feeling the bird is a surprise experience. They will land on you while you holding nuts (costs 100 yens).

I spent an hour here, but I could have more. the place is clean, and the animals look fine too.

I’ve heard of the ones I. Tokyo but though we give his one a try. Kids under 6 are free and 1500 for each adult. It was really fun getting up close and personal with he animals. Great stopover and can’t believe there are not more reviews of this place. Hidden gem!!

I know there are owl cafe in Japan, and I really want to visit once to get close to owl...
So, me and my hubby came here and check it out. it's a very small shop with a lot of birds. Some are caged some are not.
¥1000 for 1 hour, ¥300 for feeding the owl
some suggestion
1) 1 hour should be enough if you are animal lover
2) remember wear long sleeve and cover your neck and head, they will jump on your head and poke your neck, ear and head.
3) they do bite... and bite everything, my hubby got wound on his arm cos' he pull his sleeve up and the birds bite his arm
But generally, it's a fun place and so close interactive with birds that you normally hard to get close with.
