札沼線の篠路駅から少し歩いた場所にある神社。住宅街の中にありますが、意外と大きい社殿はひっそりとしています。冬に行きましたが、広い駐車場はきちんと除雪されており、止めやすかったです。駐車場から社殿はすぐなので、冬でも安心です。

札幌の神社のほとんどが屯田兵たちによって祀られた開拓守護の小祠を起源とする事例に対し、こちらは屯田兵が入植する以前の江戸後期、札幌の礎を築いた江戸幕府の役人の1人が創始した一般的には札幌最古と謳われる神社です。
天照大神を初め、武勇の品陀別大神（応神天皇）、菅原道真公等、現在は7柱もの祭神を祀ることから、仕事運や合格祈願など、ご利益も多岐にわたる篠路地域の鎮守様となっています。
境内には馬魂碑や平和顕彰碑（元・忠魂碑）など石碑も多数。
篠路屯田兵村の開村は、蝦夷地に最初に屯田兵が入植した琴似や、続く山鼻開村から約20年後の明治22年であり、隣接する新琴似屯田兵村と共に本州からの入植時期は比較的新しい地域です。

札幌の開拓のために入植した人たちの神社です。 篠路地区は札幌で一番古い歴史を持つエリアで、札幌で一番古い篠路小学校もあります。(創成小学校が最古でしたが廃校になったので) 開拓史に登場する人々が眠る墓地や、子孫が生活している札幌では珍しい歴史が残る地域です。また夏祭りもあり、獅子舞や夜店が出ます。

初めて行きました、友達家が近くにあり行ってみました、ＪＲ篠路駅からは散歩がてら歩いて行くと遠くは感じません、意外と広い神社内でお参りして帰りました
