About
It is 60 seconds by elevator from the third floor to the observation deck, 90.38 metres above ground. The entirety of Sapporo city unfolds beneath your eyes, set to a background of the magnificent Ishikari countryside, the far afield Japan Sea, and Odori Park, where flowers bloom in the four seasons. Command a panoramic view of the YOSAKOI Soran Festival, Sapporo Snow Festival, and White Illumination.

Mt. Moiwa view from Odori Park
Feb 2021
It has nothing. Just a view of mountain in the distance. The start of Odori park has this TV tower!!

Great views of Odori Park.
Dec 2020
Although not particularly high, the TV Tower offers a spectacular view of Sapporo city, especially of Odori Park, since the tower itself is located right at the start of the park itself.

Breathtaking view of Hokkaido during Winter Season
Feb 2020
We came in the morning since it is walking distance from our hotel (resol hotel trinity) and visited the observation deck! Great view of Hokkaido from above during winter season!

Bird's eye view over Odori Park below and uninterrupted views toward Mt. Moiwa!
Jan 2020
Having visited both the Observatory T38 of the JR Tower and the Sapporo TV Tower during a brief stopover in Sapporo, I would compare them as follows;
* Adult entry to both is Y720, however T38 is the only attraction I visited in Sapporo that offer a discounted rate for Seniors (Y640).
* T38 Observatory is considerably more elevated at 160m, whereas the Observatory floor of the TV Tower is only 90m.
* T38 has large expanses of glazing, comfortable seating and an attractive Cafe/Bar. The TV Tower, however, has smaller windows (angled inwards); little or no seating that would encourage you to stay a while; a decidedly 1960's dated decor and shops that full of tacky souvenirs (although there is a variety of food outlets in the Basement).
In conclusion; T38, (open until 23:00hrs), is a great place to spend some relaxing time taking in the night-time views of Sapporo, nevertheless I would still recommend the TV Tower for daytime viewing. It's position gives a good bird's eye view over Odori Park below and decent uninterrupted views toward Mt. Moiwa in the distance.

Nice view
Feb 2020
I walked the 352 steps up to the 3rd floor and it was a killer. haha
Reasonable price at ¥720 (about $10 Australian dollars).
Very small at the observation deck with souvenir stalls all around (leave it for the exit, surely!).
Nice views of the mountains and of the city.
The views are not breath-taking due to only being 90 metres above ground, but they are still great.
I'd recommend doing this. It's worthwhile and the cost is extremely reasonable.

Not impressed
Feb 2020
It is nice to reach the top to view the landscape but the grid american-like pattern of Sapporo does not offer much and the top is full of small shops selling souvenirs.

Non stop stream of visitors
Feb 2020 • Couples
If you visit the Sapporo TV Tower, do get a ticket which costs JPY720 to the observation deck for a lovely view of Odori Park and the surroundings.

There’s a little souvenir shop up there and you have the option of walking down the 352 steps from the observation deck to level 3.

A number of restaurants are at the basement as well if you want to get a bite either before or after your visit to the top.

札幌のシンボルの一つです
Jun 2019
テレビ塔は札幌のシンボルの一つですね。"Sapporo TV tower building" is one of most famous and some memorial symbol of Sapporo city. 札幌大通り公園の東橋になります。This tower was builded the east end of Sapporo Oodori Park. 小さい東京タワーの感じですね。 It look like a small "Tokyo tower". エレベーターで昇ると、札幌市街が一望できます。 If you go to lift and stayed mid point of tower, you can see the downtown of Sapporo city. 何度尋ねてもよい場所ですね。 It is good place for us to visit Sapporo.

Four corners beautiful sites!
Jan 2020 • Couples
Sapporo TV Tower is accessible by underpass to avoid the cold. Huge and beautiful structure, contrasts with the snowy white surroundings in the day time! Great for photo takings from the outside and inside. Some souvenir shops and a small cafe that sells hot drinks and icecream at the ground floor. We had corn soup and soft icecream at the cafe. The entrance fee is 720 yen per person. You can either take the lift or walk up to the upper floor to purchase the entrance ticket then take another lift to reach the observatory floor which has 360 degree of beautiful views including Odori park. There is a tiny souvenir shop and vending machines for coffee and drinks. There is also a selfie booth that we had some fun taking selfies. Overall it was a fun trip enjoying beautiful sceneries from the top. There is a park next to the tower which you can explore too. Nijo market and Tanukikoji are also within walking distance from the tower.
